Can't select parent function

has anyone else had this problem.

My daughter's tama is 2nd generation, when it first had the baby we could select the parent option, but now it won't work.

Any ideas why?

 
The aduld has to leave the baby before you can go on parent. It's quite sad when your Tamagotchi has left for the first time but you will get over it. When you go onto a different generation you still keep all you items, point etc.
