how long does it take for the tama to grow between stages? My Hoku is 1 year old and I bought it 3 days ago.

Baby --> Toddler 1 hour
Toddler --> Teen 1 day
Teen --> Adult 3 days
Adult --> Old timer 7 days
Toddler --> Teen 1 day
Teen --> Adult 3 days
Adult --> Old timer 7 days
Yeah, that about right. Heres the hours version:
Baby-Toddler 1 hour
Toddler-teenager 24 hours
teenager-adult 72 hours
adult-old timer 168 hours
To make the time pass quicker Debug your tamagotchi and put it in hyper speed.

My tama took about a MONTH (not egsagerating!) to turn from a teen to an adult!!!!!
P.s. by the way its a version 3,does that have anything to do with it?

That is becuase you hardly ever let you tamagotchi go to sleep.
Tamagotchis evolve when they are awake but they get older when they are sleeping.
Each whole night when tamagotchis sleep they get 1 year older. <_<
