Tamagotchi: The Passenger Plane!

Further proof that Japanese airline JAL is run by 8 year-old children, the carrier will be rolling out three Tamagotchi jets for the month of August. With the Obon holidays, the month is prime vacation time, and the handheld pet sim is coming up on its tenth anniversary. Inside the plane, the headrest covers and paper cups depict the popular characters, and there's even an on-board Tamagotchi channel. Children get their requisite schwag as they dang well should. Cute little Tamagotchi Character figurines: they're about 2.5 cm (1 inch) tall. Little kids flying on JAL can get them free during this summer campaign.

JAL Ura-Tama: Fly with JAL and you're eligible to enter the draw for one of 30,000 JAL Ura-Tamas.

Deka Tamagotchi: JAL has installed Deka Tamagotchis in several Japanese major airports. Connect with them to get JAL original items / souvenirs.

Well, I think you can get tickets to Switzerland, Hawaii, Australia, China, and Chile, but only if you have a V3. Just joking. Actually I think the Tamagotchi themed aircraft will do only domestic flights (flights within Japan), but the Tamagotchi toys and the contest is open for all JAL flights (except code-share flights that don't use JAL aircraft).
