Yes i know the whole routine, you go to the shop owner and stay at the place where you see the shop owner with the shop sign and then you press the 'A' button really fast until the shop owner's expression changes but now when i do it, the shop owner doesnt get shocked. why is this?

 
Press [a] really quickly, TWICE. Then once directly after that, a little slower.

Your shopkeeper should be shocked.

I have a v3 and it works on mine, but instead of pressing a twice like haze said, I had to press mine 4-5 times before he got shocked.

 
it won't work because you have to many items dude!
