No it's not normal, unless you use a matchmaker.My two tama's got married and had a baby
But the problem is that only one tama had the baby

Normally, when two Tamagotchis mate, the female has two children. A few seconds after its birth, the second child goes to live with the father. So each Tamagotchi should show one parent and one child.
Perhaps there was an infrared communications error. It happens sometimes (the communications error, I mean). So, one Tamagotchi recognised the mating, but the other didn't.
