I know that this forum is supposed to be mainly for Tama connections, but I thought it might be helpful for people if I logged the newest hatching of my Morino Tamagotchi (or forest Tama). This is the second hatching for me so I am still quite inexperienced with this variety of Tama. The last adult I had was Funkorogatchi.

Day 1:

Hatched the tama to a white egg in order to get the variable result Tamagotchi.

Currently a babymotchi, whose needs are more akin to a normal tama's child stage than a baby stage. Played the game approximately 4 times, fed about 5 times today... I will be careful to note exactly tomorrow.

At this stage the only food is a leaf.

The game gives 2 hearts instead of one if you guess 3/4 or more correctly. One heart criteria is one half accuracy.

No attacks today.

Went to sleep at 8 pm.

Today babymotchi required about the same amount of care as a marutchi, and was attacked twice at 10 am and 2 pm, respectively. At about 4 pm he changed into Imochi, the second child stage, which he should remain in for a few days. I kept his hearts full throughout the day with no mistakes.

Same routine pretty much today... mixed up the foods, cleaned up the random poops (Morino does not poop on a set schedule like other tamagotchis).

Attacked 4 times today! 8 am, noon, 4 pm, and 8 pm, a second before going to sleep.

I expect him to turn into a cocoon tomorrow, and that's where the log will get more detailed.

Well morino did not change yesterday, nor today. I think I knwo why, though. While perusing web sites it appears that changing is based on how quickly imochi reaches 50 grams. I suppose this is somewhat realistic considering how a caterpillar eats everything in sight before becoming a pupae. The web site said to disregard the happiness meter because the game causes weight loss, and also to not feed the leaf because it only gains one gram as opposed to two this way. The same web site said that the adult character is based both on the temperature during cocoon stage and how fast it becomes a cocoon. This would explain why my first buggy became funkorogatchi even though I took good care of it, in the typical tama strategy. It would also explain why the same thing happened to Kat from mimitchi.com when she tried the morino tama and used the traditional tama strategy. I don't know whow i feel about this, though... i can't in good conscience disregard happiness... i'll have to try it anyway, though, just to see. I have a nagging suspicion mori will change into the dung beetle again.

Today he was attacked once at 10 am, and I may have missed an attack at 4 pm, though I am uncertain... i don't usually miss attacks, but i checked on him and he had bandages on himself. I fed him only his secondary food and let the happiness hearts deplete a little more than usual, to start testing the above theory. We'll see what happens tomorrow.

Well the cocoon stage went pretty well, the temperature stayed in the zone I wanted it to for a hot character. It did end up becoming funkorogatchi though, as expected. No attacks today and pretty easy to care for. When I feed him dung, his happiness goes up in addition to hunger. He has a reputation for dying easily, however, so we'll see how long he lasts. He went to bed at 10 pm.

Funkorogatchi is on day 8 now and has not been attacked as an adult, which is surprising. He has gained a lot of weight with his food. The dung fills a happy heart, so I can't help but wonder if it is a treat? I may have to try feeding him only leaves and seeing what happens. I am definitely going to try diffreent strategies with the next hatching. Now I just want to see how long I can keep him alive.

Funkorogatchi stayed pretty much the same, but in the last two days he started getting needier, so I had a feeling he would die soon. He had already made it past 8, whish was the lifetime of the first morino incarnation. Last night I made sure he went to bed with full hearts, and I had been only feeding him leaves and playing the game to keep his weight down. Unfortunately, this morning 15 minutes after he woke up, he beeped and died. There was nothing I could do, and since he had not been attacked and his hearts were full, I have to think this was just his time. Farewell, Dung beetle! He was 11 when he died.

This evening I decided to start fresh with a new strategy. I hatched a babymotchi and when she changes to imochi, i will maximize her weight and see what happens.

Babymochi turned into Imochi this morning, so now the main strategy starts. I will feed him only the second food, and play the game as little as possible to maximize weight. Unfortunately, this morining I figured I would play the game once to give him another heart then ended up losing three times in a row >_< . If he is attacked and I save him, all the happy hearts get filled. I hope he is attacked ^_^

This morning she turned into a cocoon, which took me by surprise. I don't think she was quite 50 grams yet. We'll see what happens tomorrow. I am aiming for a hot character.

This morning the cocoon turned into Tentotchi, the second adult on the chart and a ladybug! I accidentally let the cocoon go to cold instead of warm, if it was warm, i think I would have gotten Kogenetchi, the top character. This is really exciting! If I use this strategy a few more times and get better characters, I think it will sufficiently prove that it works and is not just random.

Tentotchi's second food choice looks like some sort of bubble, so I have no idea what it is supposed to be. If it is anything like funkorogatchi's dung, then this will raise hunger and happiness, sort of like a treat. I fed her only leaves this morning to try and keep her weight down and keep her healthy, although I do not know if this even helps. We'll see how long she lives compared to mr. dung beetle.
