Sami waited about half an hour for her beloved Onu to come. Onu was her wonderful partner and truly a loyal Maskutchi, even if he was very shy. But she loved him so as he was kind, compassionate, sweet and at times he could be quite daring and brave. More hours passed. Sami looked over the other side of the road. All the shops were closing. She took a step forward. She closed her eyes and covered her head with her jacket; she was getting worried about him. She walked over to the roads curb and started to tread quietly over to the other side where there was a small and dirty bus stop. “At least if I don’t have him, I can have some shelter for the night.” She thought out loud. Onu was going to take her back home because she had no car. The tick tock of her watch left her asleep on the damp and muddy seat. Nightmares immediately started to pour into her head. First she dreamed Onu had left his family, left her. He flew back home to his home planet, but when he got there, he died of hunger. The next night she dreamed she was in an earthquake. She saw Onu on the edge of a cliff, holding on for dear life. Sami had no strength left in her, so she crawled over to him. She gently and sweetly kissed him on the forehead. She jumped off the edge just as Onu fell. Sami woke with a start. The rose he had given her earlier had shrivelled up into a simple bud. She looked around her. Nobody in sight. No shops even. Only the seat what she had been sleeping on so deeply and darkly. She suddenly felt a change. She felt her back. Two, soft fluffy things were sticking out from her. She twisted her head a little to see two white wings with black streaks in them there. “What? Huh? What’s happened?” She gasped. Nothing so spectacular had ever happened to her friends or her ever before. She was astonished. What could she say to Onu? Or was Onu? She suddenly had an encouraging but weird idea in her head.
