It could be the sunlight. sunlight effects tamagotchis connecting. try saty out of the sun when you connect

When you're on the Standby screen press B and 'Proceed' will appear. This needs to appear on both Tamagotchi.
You cannot connect with a Chou Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi or an Ura Jinsei Enjoi Tamagotchi.
Make sure you're not in the path of sunlight, bright lighting or anything using IR.
