This may seem like a dumb question, but I cannot for the life of me, figure out how to get my two adult male and female tamagotchis to breed. The are both at the right level to breed and the both have 4 hearts, I just cannot figure out how to do it.

 
Well, you have to connect them via infrared, which is easy. The part that is not so obvious is that they don't actually reach sexual maturity (breeding age) until they have been an adult 24 hours. So keep connecting them, but it will probably work better tomorrow.

 
Yep! Just keep connecting them and eventually they'll ask "Love?" and then you just enter "Yes" and there will be the same cutscene that happens with the Matchmaker. Except you'll have a baby on each Tama Screen! Hehe, I love it.
