I was about to post abut the keitai with my own questions since I got my second one today. You do not need a cell phone, because there is an option to put codes in to get items (I think in Japan you would get the codes from your cell phone, but we have websites)

I was able to find some translation of some menus for the keitai. On the connect menu, it says:
1. connect to keitai
2. connect to plus
3. connect to dekagotch
4. connect to cell phone
(well that's what the menu means anyway)
Under the connect to cell phone menu, you press the first option twice to post a code you find online... i don't know what the other options mean exactly but they involve connecting to the cellphone which we can't do anyway.
Under the Notebook menu, this is what the options mean:
1. Friends
2. Presents
3. Gotchi Points
4. Memories (previous generations, as far as I can tell)
Under gotchi points, when you click on it you can see your total points you have, or if you press a, the points you have donated to the gotchi king. If you press b under the donate screen, you can choose how much to donate and it flies away. When you donate 1000 points, you get a special screen that shows a code number, supposedly gotchi king's cell phone number, and this number ends up in your presents menu. Now you're supposed to be able to use that number to call the gotchi king and have special stuff happened, but when I put in the number I got, it wouldn't accept it. I have, however, used the number shown on the tamalove site about the gotchi king and he accepted that. Sometimes he would show up... not exactly sure what he did. The web site says he cleans up your tama's poop but i still had to do that. Once you donate 1000 points, you can't donate any more for that generation.
Connecting Keitais
Ok here is where my questions come in, because I got my second keitai today and connected them. First off, I have found a
keitai can not connect with a connexion 2. Now, When my tamagotchis connect, they have so far only played one game, and I have absolutely no idea what that game is! here is what happens:
I get the game screen (ready, go!), then both tamagotchis appear to bet gotchi points on the game outcome, either 10, 20, or 30. Then, a mysterious screeen comes up obscuring both tamagotchis that looks an awful lot like those old batman shows where there would be a big burst with the words KAPOW or BANG! but the text is in japanese so I have no idea what it actually says. Then it shows the tamagotchis again, and one tama (the winner) has both bags of gotchi points and the loser cries. This is the only game I have seen. And yes, they do keep the loser's points. My hitodetchi kept losing to my mametchi every time except once and that put a real dent in his points.
They do give each other presents, so far those presents have been: poop, some sort of bug (they don't like it), a balloon (it came from my first keitai's presents), a ball (not sure where it came from).
So I have no idea what they are supposed to do connected, or what they actually do. Does anyone out there have two keitais and actually know anything about connecting them? The game they did for me is nothing like what the tamalove site says the games should be like.
On a side note, I want to say how different the keitai is from the connexion2. They are similar, but different enough to be considered separate. I love the keitai. I love the code system, the different foods, the games, and the characters. I really recommend it for anyone interested in one of the newer tamagotchis, despite how little we know about it so far, there is a lot of depth to its play.
