Did my Tama turn into a stuffed animal?

I got the code for the stuffed animal and when I gave it to him I thought he would play with it but he freaked out, jumped in the air and then he either turned into the stuffed anilmal or was replaced with it. Is this normal? Then my daughter put the costume on him so he looks different again. She's 8 and I am helping her out with her Tama. We both got one so we can play with them together. She loves them and I may be a grown up but I think they're quite cute too. Thanks! BTW this is what my Tama grew into before he changed. How do you get the costume off?

When you give your Tamagotchi the stuffed animal or costume item, he/she will then wear it! So it was completly normal for your Tama to be wearing the stuffed animal!

And as for taking it off, you just have to wait for it to go to sleep and it will then take it off.
