i was connecting with my brother and mine failed but isaacs was absent and it didn't go into mine. what happened

That isn't uncommon. It has also happened to me with mine. It has a history of happening with linkable virtual pets. Isaac's connection worked, but there was a malfunction in the programming and yours just didn't respond to his.
