alright, so from one irrate tama-player to another, please help me!!

i try to raise my tamagotchis differently, but every time they get to adults, i always get the mamechi! i'm getting too bored with it that i am here now, asking this:

How do i go about getting a Maskutchi, Gozarutchi, Memechi, etc... without DEBUGGING my tama?

i dont want to ruin my tama with debugging, but i dont want to have to involve cheat codes or whatnot. i just want a simple way to not get a mametchi, like "when theyre a toddler, feed them only snacks" or "only dance with them, never run".

For my tama information, i have 4 tamagotchis, all Generation 1, all version 1, and all mamechis :D so please, anyone that can help, post!

P.S. as an added question, i want to get a V2, but they wont be coming to the US for a few months i suppose... so, are the V2's from the UK compatable with the V1's from the US :D thanks again for the help... VERY much appreciated. :D

If you take barely any care of your tamagotchi, you'll get either a Gozarutchi or a Maskutchi.

That can't be too hard to accomplish :)

AKA just let their hearts go down until they call you, then fill the hearts up all the way and wait for them to empty again.

Your so lucky but I know you hate them to have so many times but your raising it really good but if you don't like it try to not take real good care of it. :)

wow, thats rather in depth.... and i think i got it down pat......

Just this morning, my teen turned into the Kuchipatchi, one that i have never gotten before (obviously). :D

Sorry, dont be jealous, i do have a nasty habit of taking too much care of my tamagotchis, even while at work.... also considering that i am over 20 years of age, it does seem childish.... but i long for a pet i can bring with me where ever i go, and my tamagotchis satisfy that hunger! B)

My next question is one of opinion: i only have 2 of my tamagotchis on me at one time, since my other two are still in their original packaging, i havent removed them yet. Should i play with them, or leave them as is?? i'm thinking they may become a treasure for the future if i leave them in their packaging, but it's a shame to have such a machine and never use it....

Also, has anyone found out if the Version 2 Tamagotchis from the UK/Australia are compatable with the IR communicators/connectors in the Version 1 tamagotchis from the US/Canada?? :D

Wait, something's wrong here...you can't ALWAYS get mametchi....only on odd-numbered generations.

Hello Tama-sama, from a fellow 20something tama enthusiast. I tend to get the best characters too, so to mix it up use different techniques of poor, good, and average care. To get hanatchi and robotchi, focus on happiness and the dance game and less on hunger and jump. I have a great number of tamagotchis running at the moment, and because of that I have eben getting more kuchis and memetchis. I personally open all my tamagotchis, to play with them, as opposed to keeping them as a collector's item or an investment. I agree it's better to enjoy them. Oh, and yes, I got into them because I missed having pets but can't right now (oh, the practicalities of life!).

To answer your compatibilty question, here's the in depth info (having all of them, I know first hand)

Connection V1 connects to plus, connexionV1, connexionV2, connectionV2 but not keitai

ConnexionV1 is essentially the same, the only differences in programming are cultural (the date, terms, holidays, etc)

Plus is also the same, only in Japanese and programmed for Japanese culture

Connexion V2 (both aussie and euro versions) connect with the connection/connexion/plus and the keitai, though with the ketiai you must choose Version1 on both to connect

Connection V2 is the same

Keitai is a whole different animal, so to speak. It was designed purely for the Japanese market, and it only connects to the Plus, itself, and the connexion/connectionV2 (again you have to choose version1 to do this on both tamagotchis). In fact, the connexion/connection2s display and understand both english and japanese, if you connect to japanese tamagotchis. keitais only display japanese characters, the american names in the friends list look like weird symbols like stars etc. I can go on about the ketiai connection2 differences if you are interested. I personally adore the keitai, possibly above all others, though I am not positive yet :D

As far as breeding is concerned, connection1s and 2s can breed (and connexion1s and 2s) but keitais do not breed with connect/xion2s.

Ah, so in reality, yes, all the Tamagotchis, no matter the "Version", can connect, aside from the Keitai, which is japanese. Essentially.... if i get a Tama while in England (if they're even available then, seeing how popular they are) they will connect with my Connection from the US/Canada.

Alright, another question would be: What exactly is the difference between the UK Connexion and the UK Connection (as apposed to the US)? i'm just a little confuddled with all the different names you mentioned in your last post, Ratstar.

And for the sake of it, yeah, i'm thinking about opening my others only because seeing them in thier packages is almost sorrowfull... there to see, not touch.

I suppose my last question for the time being would be: What is this Keitai version? i havent heard of it before, so i'm somewhat confused. is it just the Japanese Version 2, or an entirely different tama? :D

Well technically the connection is the American version, and connexion is europe, australia and asia. It gets confusing because the American connection version 2 has not come out in the US, but we have seen pictures of what the packaging will look like and this exact same tama somehow materialized in the UK. In reality it is the US version, but I don't know why it is in the UK. I am referring to the version 2s with rectangular packaging, say connection on them, and come in 4 colors (blue with pink bubbles, white with pink hearts, cobalt blue and magenta with pink diamonds).

The keitai is special. At first I thought it was just the Japanese V2, since I got it before any V2s, but the more I compare the two and learn about them, the more I realize they are very different. The keitai plus came out before the version 2s, and has a tiny antennae on it to connect to Japanese cell phones. Many of the characters are brand new, and you gain gotchi points by playing games and when your tama evolves. There is a shopkeeper who comes once a day to offer you an item to buy, and you can also input codes to buy items (or get free ones). The games are very fun, and easy to win. It is all in Japanese and we don;t have the instruction booklet translated (oh yes, there is a booklet!), but most of the commands have been figured out. there are a lot of nice details on the keitai that are not on the V2, such as being able to get the babytchi to use the potty, it beeps when it poops, and pressing c when the tama is not doing anything shows you cute animations. In Japan, there are large tamagotchis called dekagotchis in stores where you can get special items by connecting them to your keitai. I have also noticed that the designs on the keitai seem to be better quality, i.e. they don't look like they could scratch off easily. I have one that si white with green clovers on it and one that is teal with butterflies. The way you play games is different too, you can either bet points with them, or choose a toy to play with from the item menu and play a game using that (I have not done this yet). I am sure there are other things I can't think of right now... but let me link you to a thread on the keitai keitai thread

Hope this helps. If you have any more questions, feel free to pm me or email me.

I'd be more neglectful. If you want to starve it but be with it during the day, leave it awake at night and miss some training or say when it wants punishing praise it... You're bound to have a different character then. Ah, yes, Mametchis are a little boring...
