I only have a V1 right now, but I intend to buy a V2, so I can both see the new features and so I can connect. Does that mean my V2 will always be that tama it turns into when it connects with a V1, or is it just temporary? It would be boring if I kept getting the same tama just because I connect to my V1.

 
If you mean nazotchi, that's just what your tama looks like when it visits a V1, if it is in reality a character the V1 does not recognize. It doesn't have any bearing on what character you actually get on the V2.
