I have been raising my 2 entamas very closely last while so I could mate them. Today is the day they can! But oh no! I can't seem to get them to get connecting and get making those babies lol. What do you think is wrong?

First off from what I read, since its all in japanese, to marry two of them, go to your connections icon, and select the first option in the list, then select the last one in the next list. This is what I've been trying since 3 this afternoon. They connect with games or sending items, but not mating. It shows it failed on the screen.

Both entamas have first pay from their jobs and the matchmaker is beginning to visit both of my guys already, so I'm stumped. I really wanna mate these guys.

 
Just a few no-brainers first:

Double-check to make sure that one is a boy and one is a girl.

I don't think you can mate two Hatena-zoku characters together.

Boy and girl? Mametchi boy, Meidotchi girl. Yep, opposite genders.

Neither characters are dating service card babies, so that's out.

And yes it connects on games and everything else BUT to mate.

 
I dont have entamas, but that happened to me once. I later found that 1 of the tamas was in love with another tama so it had 4 hearts with 2 tamas. Ideleted the other lover off of his list, and they got married the next time i connected them!!

 
Have you tried the love potion yet?

Maybe they won't mate yet because they aren't in love.

There are different scales. You can see the relationship level one Tamagotchi has with another in the friends list.

relationship levels with opposite gender

しりあい shiriai - acquaintance

ともだち tomodachi - friend

しんゆう shinyuu - best friend

こいびと koibito - in love (now can mate together)

ねつあい netsuai - deeply in love (now can mate together)

relationship levels with brother / sister

よそよそ兄弟 yosoyoso kyoudai - similar to so-so

なかよし兄弟 nakayoshi kyoudai - about the same as friends

むつまじき兄弟 mutsumaji kyoudai - equivalent to best friends

relationship levels with other

しりあい shiriai - acquaintance

ともだち tomodachi - friend

しんゆう shinyuu - best friend

だいしんゆう daishinyuu - super best friends

If you have the Japanese fonts installed on your computer you should see the Japanese characters before each of the relationships.

From what I was told by Spiffy, they did not need any love potions or anything to mate. You just hit marry and that's the end of it. From her data and her feedback, it should be working, which was odd.

Anyway I just dealt with the matchmaker yesterday for both of them, so I'll try that interaction thing for next time.

 
Okay I guess I got some misinformation. Thank you anyway Binary, I have gotten love potions ahead of time for when I can try again. I already mated both of them with matchmaker selections and they both have daughters. So better luck next time eh?

 
Some previous model Japanese Tamagotchis would automatically mate if you happened to connect and they were already in love. With the new ones they don't mate unless you instruct them to do so, but they must be in love before they'll obey your instruction to mate.
