Original 1997 US tamagotchis

So i have the chance to get an original '97 Tamagotchi for a rather good price, and it's either a green transperent one, or a silver and black one (either or which i am happy to own). Sadly, my last two original tamagotchis had been lost since i moved homes, and i am lonely without an original. my quesiton to you is:

Are the original 1997 US release Tamagotchis still worth collecting? Also, are they still rather popular?

I know it's all about opinion, but really, i like to know that you all think.

alright, so i have another question, but i dont know if it's answerable:

I noticed that there are 2 DIFFERENT Generations of the original Tama from 96-97, one with the Mametchi, and the other is the Mimitchi. on the one Tamagotchi i won from ebay, on the inside where the tama is, there is an image NOT of the Kuchipatchi (which is on the FIRST generation Tama box, and is supposedly the main tama character for that generation) but theres another! i believe it's name is Hashizotchi (looks like a parrot).

Well, by the kind of views i see on this topic, i guess they arent as popular as i would hope.

Thankfully, i have had my question answered, and am pleased with it. i suppose there is no need for this subject now that i have my answer.... so i shall slowly watch it die and float to the bottom of the pile once i post this.....

I love the originals!

I was around when they first came out and i bought so many you couldnt even count em lol. Since then i have downsized my collection a bit but I AM A HUGE COLLECTOR !!!

With me at least, they are still popular

I think that anything from the 90's are cool! I love the originals!

yeah, i want more, but they are hard to find. if you know anyone that has some for sale within the US/Canada, please PM me. i am open to prices, but i usually range from 15-35 USD. in any case, i will always be a fan, and i pray i can find more soon.
