I think you may have the teen Piroririroritchi. You'll have to wait about 3 days for it to evolve again. It's normal and you didn't do anything wrong. All teens take about this long to evolve. That's how a tamagotchi's growth process goes.

They might mean they used a costume. If so, wait a day and it will change back.
