I am babysitting my friends tamagotchi and a thing that looked like a battery with a X popped up so I pushed reset and download and it was ok. What happened?

 
the tama simply needed a new battery. you can purchase one at walmart, or any drugstore

 
um, theres a glich when it appears as if it needs a battery, but wen u press reset, it jacks the battery back! srry! my bad! ALWAYS press reset before putting a battery in!
