It's probably been asked many times before, but in V3 and V4, what does honey do? While I'm at it, what does the clone do anyway?

It's a love potion.

If you don't know what a love potion does, you simply choose it from the item list when your tama is an adult and, ie. if your tama was a boy, the next girl it connects with will fall in love with you- i think.

The love potion will boost your friendship up to 4 hearts. It saves you from all that connecting.

The clone is a item that turns into your tamagotchi. They will start playing and dancing but after a while the clone will stop.

Yes, the clone will stay in your inventory. If you accidently lose it, you can look at the Tamagotchi Corner Shop 1 manual. ^_^
