Have your tama with you almost all the time, because anytime it beeps youll need to either praise it or give it a time out. Give it a time out if it beeps for no reason even with full hearts, and praise it when it has its back turned or if its crying. I'm pretty sure this is the only way to get training points, at least for a version 3 or lower. Tamas usually beep every 2-4 hours so make sure you have it around.
