I'm not sure if I have this in the right forum or not. My apologies if it isn't.

I'm a wee bit too cowardly to open up my Gen 1 and 2 Tamagotchi from 96-97. Otherwise I'd probably know the answer to this question. XD;

What batteries did the old tamagotchis use?

I keep hearing that those Tama batteries are quite expensive. Just how expensive are they?

the old tamagotchis used G13 batteries but if u wanna get replacemetn batteries for it. . . its also know as 357 of soemting liek that. .. hope this helps! i just replaced it recently kinda and it costed like 4.00 for 3 batteries at walgreens. . :D :p

 
I think they use two AG13 batteries. Over here they sell for about £1 a battery, although you can get them cheaper if you buy them in multipacks.
