Ok, here's what it says about a Mametchi in the character chart:

But if that's a mametchi, then what is this?

I don't think it makes any sense, because I've seen both of them on my Tama, so I know they both exist. Can someone help me?

The first link's pixel image is what Mametchi looked like on the V1 connection and the origanal tamagotchi. The second pixel is the Mametchi for connection versions 2-4. It was revised so it would look more like the animated image. They are both Mametchi's, just at different states in time.
