My tama (Jake) was hungry, so I fed him. Well, when I went to look at his stats, I accidentally hit the button 2 times. And instead of his name being "Jake", it was "Hake"!! And his best friend, "Ian", wasn't best friends with him!!

Coincidence? I think not!

Yes, you have a glitched tamagotchi. If you bought your tamagotchi on Ebay, it may be a fake. If it is store-bought, it shouldn't be fake. I don't see fakes in stores . Glitches also occur if your battery is running low. Get a new battery at the store. The battery required to start your tamagotchi over again is CR-2032.

I had a Simular problem also on my Sky Blue with Sunflowers. I had a Adult named Jack but it changed to Hack. Try to reset and then download your Tamagotchi again it should go back to normal the way mine did.

I hope this isn't going to be a Big Problem with V4. Bandai stop making these glitches!

that never happend to mine but it happend to my friends. Her V4 was BOB then it was OB and another V4 was Jordn and it changed to Hordn. On my friends V3, I was deleted from her friend list somehow and we were in love.

I have had a similar problem on my V3.

For some odd reason, on my V3 awhile ago, I looked at my tamas name and it had changed! Then I went to my friend list and saw a hamburger tama with a chinese name and 4 hearts. ; I was sorta freaked out, because I've never had a glitch before. xP

What I suggest you do it reset and download your tamagotchi, or just pretend nothing happened. I mean, a glitch won't ruin your tama (unless it's a glitch in the wires).

Hmm...I've never had that happen to me, but you seem to be in good company because a lot of people who replied to this had similar problems. You may want to try changing the battery or resetting and downloading or you could just wait for the problem to sort itself out. It doesn't seem serious, but very common. So I guess I wouldn't worry if I were you.

On my v4, my Tamagotchis name was Becka amd it changed to Ecka! And then went it on to the next generation it turned into Becka again in the parents list! h34r:

my tama v3 had full friends list and then somhow it got a wiered tama on its friend list and also 3 violetchi friends that wouldnt of realy fitted on my last when I deleated the first wierd tama the other 3 disserpeared how did this happen?

I wouldn't freak out. It is a glitch, but not serious. In your case, it isin't a big problem because it is just a changed name, it dosen't affect your tamagotchi. If you want it to go back to normal:

(1)- Just Wait- the tamagotchi will usually sort these things out in a couple days or so.

(2)- If that dosen't work, try downloading your tamagotchi, resetting, or change the battery. <_<

this seems to be a glitch that is happening to everyone. bad on BanDai's part. It is nothing to worry about, because unless you really care about your tama's name, it does not change your tamagotchi at all.

And to the other question, I've found that it is happening to the newer versions, at least with me. please correct me if I am wrong
