What is this?

My tamagotchi is a v4. He became a this morning. He is 3 years old. When I go to the heart icon and select work, i zoom off, land and the turtle guy gives me three presents and I have to get the intelligence icon from one. What is happening?

PS: When do you get a job on the v4?

When you are ready to graduate, you will get a [ ! ] in the mail- the teacher and your tamagotchi will appear to be shouting at each other. When you come back, the mailman will come again, this time with a job application. You must have a certain amount of skill points to get each job.
