To go onto Tama-iD.com, you need to be in Japan and accessing the site using a Japanese cellphone's browser.
Once a file has been downloaded from Tama-iD.com onto a Japanese cellphone, it can be transferred to a PC using a memory card, USB cable, or Bluetooth connection.

The file can be shared from one PC to another by sending it via email, or by posting it to a filesharing site such as depositfiles.com

From your PC, it can be copied onto your non-Japanese cellphone. Many non-Japanese cellphones also have the required IR port, and can be used to send the download files to a Tamagotchi-iD.

So... if you don't live in Japan but do have access to a cellphone with an IR port, you may be able to use it to send stuff to your Tamagotchi-iD... if someone in Japan shares the files to you.

If you phone requires a SIM, but you don't have one installed, it will probably halt at power-up with a message "insert SIM."

SonyEricsson (based on mine)

(1) copy the file from your PC into the phone memory's Pictures folder, using a USB cable or bluetooth connection and SonyEricsson's File Manager software for the PC.

(2) on the phone, launch the phone's File Manager, and open the Pictures folder.

(3) in the Pictures folder, cursor to the file, then click the More button.

(4) in the More menu, select Send.

(5) in the Send menu, select Via Infrared.

(6) on the Tamagotchi-iD activate the connect icon (heart icon in the upper right corner of the display)

(7) in the connect menu, select Download (it's the fourth menu entry on the first page)

(8) align the phone & Tamagotchi-iD's infrared ports

Nokia (based on Users Guides from Nokia's web site)

(1) copy the file from your PC into your phone's Gallery > Images folder.

(2) on your phone, open the Images folder.

(3) in the Images folder, scroll to the file, then click the Open button.

(4) select Options.

(5) select Send.

(6) select Infrared (Note: some infrared-equipped models don't support sending images via infrared, so "Infrared" won't be listed.)

(7) on the Tamagotchi-iD activate the connect icon (heart icon in the upper right corner of the display)

(8) in the Tamagotchi-iD connect menu, select Download (it's the fourth menu entry on the first page)

(9) align the phone & Tamagotchi-iD's infrared ports

You should see the item arrive at it's destination shop (Gotchi Interior, Game Center, Accessories Shop, Photo Studio, etc.)

Location___________Maximum downloaded items you can storage there

Restaurant__________6 meals

TamaDoughnuts_______1 doughnut flavour

TamaCafe____________3 snacks

Game Center_________2 mini-games

Gotchi Interior_____4 livingroom wallpapers

TamaDepa____________4 toys

Photo Studio________5 costumes and 1 backdrop

Accessories Shop____3 accessories

Door Menu___________2 destinations

Mailbox____________10 letters

If you try to send a download file to a destination location after it's already full, a Japanese message will appear. Then you'll see the items at that destination and be able to select which one to delete (to make room for the new one.)
