I doubt it's broken. You'll probably just have to wait a little longer. Have you paused it at all? If you have it'll take a little longer for it to leave. Also, I doubt having changed the time to 12:00 will do any good. Don't they have to be a certain age before they leave? Anyway, just wait. ;)

Oh!!! I think I know what you're talking about! It's the counter that records how many figures you have attatched to the top of the Tama-Go. If you get atleast five, you'll see a special animation, which I don't want to spoil... ;) Just 4 U: There's a picture of it somewhere on Tama-Zone...

Well...it really wouldn't matter to me about the package too much unless it was a rare tamagotchi like a Yasashii or a Devilgotchi, but for those who want to keep the packaging, you could just be very meticulous about how you cut it open.
