That shouldn't matter, it should still count as a hatching. Mine grew into a teen yesterday as well. It was the Mizutamatchi and then grew into Ichigotchi, the one that looks like a strawberry. So far my tama has 6 training bars, 26 intelligent points, 60 fashion points, and 38 social points...
