The older I get, the more I realize adulthood means nothing, and we're all still trying to figure out what we're actually doing.

I still love the tamagotchis and My Little Pony stuffs associated with my childhood, I collect vintage MLP figures, comic books and Grateful Dead Beanie Bears (by liquid blue.) I'd be a gamer if I had the attention span for modern video games, but the last game I actually finished was Spyro 3, so I'm okay with my system being 2 releases out of date. It's more affordable that way, and there's nothing wrong with the PS2. I'm also Stila fan of the guitar hero franchise since it was the most practical PT for my "gimpy" which is the loving nickname I have given to the pinky I almost cut off with a bandsaw in wood - crafts class in 12th grade.

I love defying expectations, and get a special fuzzy feeling in my soul when people underestimate me. Music is the language of my soul, and I'll find a way to avoid responsibility if it means I can watch abandoned from my "youth" play a concert.

I read compulsively, and if I have less than three books in progress at any time, I feel lost.

I have two favorite quotes, among the hundreds I enjoy.
"Those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music"
This one is often misattributed to NNietchez, but was most likely coined by George Carlin.
    -AND-
"It's never too late to have a happy childhood."
This one is most assuredly by Tom Robbins, an author who may make many feel uncomfortable but has wonderful messages between the sultry lines.

I also see you liked to play Guitar Hero. I have DJ Hero tho lol

  2. It turns out the problem with my phone in particular was twofold. One- direct sunlight. My living room was too bright in the afternoon with too much direct sunlight coming through the open windows. Got this tip-off from a PDF download of the phone's User Manual. Two- the phone's manual says nothing about this, but I can't get it to work with the battery charging. Figured this out when I wondered how fast the battery would drain if I wasn't keeping it plugged in all the time. (The rechargeable is temperamental about charging and fast to drain itself, basically shot, after all, it's 13 years old.) The default transfer settings work perfectly for me, so long as the phone is unplugged, and the room is on the darker side. (Not too dark, really, just indirect sunlight.) If these don't apply to solving your issue, try something weird. I would have never thought the sun and the power cord were my problems if it didn't consistently work.
  3. I'm wondering the same thing, because I just got a palm Treo just for my Gotchis, and while I was able to send a cookie recipe to one, the very same gotchi won't recieve any other files. The phone just stopped registering its existence after the first one worked perfectly. I used to have the USB IRDA device, so I'm used to them acting finicky and having to retry fifty eleven times, but it worked so easily the first time, (and never again) that I'm wondering what else I can try. *EDIT* So far, I'm seeing things on other parts of the forum/other sites where a fully charged battery in the phone made a difference in the use of the IR transfer. Since this dinosaur takes forever to charge, I'm going to leave it alone and try again in a few hours. The only other suggestion I found is rebooting the phone, but that doesn't look like an option for the dinosaur. I think I can only turn the phone service off/on, but it may help you. *EDIT #2* Not to be defeated by obsolete technology, I started playing around in my phone settings, and found that I can alter the transfer rate. I'm going to see if that helps at all, and I'll let you know if it's something to look into on yours. I tried to serve the web for advice on ideal IR Transfer Rates, because I remember reading something about that when I originally configured the USB dongle, but I am having a time of it trying to find where I had found that before. Trial and error, AHOY!
  4. Thanks for the info. I was looking for my options since the windows ten update made my USB transfers a thing of the past, and I was getting super frustrated by finding nothing but parts of phones or dinosaurs out of my budget. I bought one from this seller just now, and I should get it within a week. Can't wait to see if this makes me stop pulling my hair out trying to transfer games to my gotchis. ^_~
  5. So, today is the first time I have been back here since last summer-ish, but I just so happened to reset and start my patched P's on Easter. I am amused by the coincidence.
  6. Hello! :) I don't think we met...did we? *is unsure*

I know I've seen you around the boards, but I don't know if we ever said hi. So, hi!

  7. Well, I just signed up. I'm NightwishFae on there. I think I'll like this one, I tend to get addicted to these kinds of games.
  8. Story time! I'm currently in a legal battle to obtain compensation for video games I had stolen from my doorstep (lousy mail thief) and had to buy back from a local resale shop. When initially filing the police report, the detective could not quite understand what I was saying the titles of the four games were, and in a moment of frustration ("inception?" "No, inFECTion!") He threw his hands up in the air and said "you're 28 years old, what are you still doing playing video games?!" My response? "I'm really nostalgic over this series, and couldn't afford to buy them myself when I was a kid!" He then said, in a tone of reverence, "That is a GREAT point! I think you just helped me figure out how to explain my Star Wars action figure collection to my wife." /story The point is, Tamas are becoming more complex and entertaining. A lot of the cost way more than a toy for a young kid to play with would. and if they still interest you, you're not too old for your Fandom!
  9. I think I'll be in the same camp. Plus, I'd like there to be a decent amount of info available for when I can't figure out the Japanese. I never owned the 4U, so it seems prudent.
  10. Only have one of my P's running at the moment, but I'll probably relaunch my iD L tonight or tomorrow.
