  1. Unfortunately this is a very (very, very) old topic, dating back to 2008. We do ask all our members to try to remember to check the date of posts on the forums so we can avoid topic bumping anything more than 3 months old. That may also be why the link doesn't work for you anymore The page you're looking for does still exist tho' : https://www.tamatalk.com/pixelmood/tamagotchi_connection_debugging.htm Try that link - it should take you to the debug page on Pixelmood Thanks! *closed*
  2. Lots of people make / buy soft covers for them. If you don't want to buy something online, I've always found soft baby's socks good at protecting them and good value.
  3. I think owning and caring for a tamagotchi taught my kids that virtual pets were a lot easier than real pets and they understood that if they could keep their tamagotchi alive it definitely didn't mean they were capable of looking after a real pet. They've both had tamas, hamsters, fish/aquarium and dogs (the dogs were family pets so they got to share carer responsibility). Now they're both adults but as far as dogs are concerned, both of them love and want their own one; but they know that it's just not practical if they're away from home at work or at university lectures during the day, so reluctantly they have to wait (and regularly try to persuade me that we need another dog in the house...) I'm not saying that owning a dog can't be done if you're out of the house for much of the day, but both of them know that a dog's quality of life and happiness is signifcant if they're around their humans for much of the day and they get enough exercise. On reflection, owning and running a clean, healthy aquarium for fish is pretty time consuming and does teach a reasonable level of responsibility about care and maintenance of living creatures.

  6. There are some photos in the old "Your collection" thread that show how some members have displayed their tamagotchis if it's of any use?
  7. Weight does have some significance but again, it depends on which version of tamagotchi you are asking about. I used TamaTalk's search function (key word: weight) and found this post - by OsuMesu21 as it happens - I hope it might be useful to you: (Just a note for additional information, it is much more helpful if you post questions singly or confine them to one version, not lots of different questions about different versions. This helps with future searches on information by others )
  8. The reason there was no growth chart posted for the V2 is in fact explained in the Index post that you quoted. It's supposed to be a list of links to topics and replies that were posted on TamaTalk. A complete, finished and accurate V2 growth chart was never posted on TamaTalk, therefore we did not post a link to it At least, that's the way I remember it. I remember that I personally looked through many, many, (many) posts on TamaTalk searching for good quality info on growth and character charts and that it took me a long time to prepare that list of links. It's quite a few years ago, so I might be wrong! Growth charts for the various versions of tamagotchis were posted on TamaTalk and on other popular fan sites (like TamaZone) mostly by members who had spent a lot of time and effort keeping track of generations / evolutions / training, etc. in order to help us gain insights into the programming rules for each character and version's growth. The V2 was launched with a lot more possible characters, more coding, shop items and games than the V1. I remember there were plenty of people trying to figure out the evolution and many growth chart projects were started. BanDai only released character charts at the time and left the evolution and growth for the fans to figure out for themselves. That was part of the charm actually However, this was at the height of the tamagotchi's popularity and BanDai launched the V3 and the V4 / V4.5 in fairly quick succession after the V2 and so interest and emphasis shifted onto the newer versions and so many of the projects stalled and were never completed. The V2 growth chart posted on TamaZone by OsuMesu21 is a good one and although I have never had enough time to check it for absolute accuracy I think it's probably one of the best you'll find.
  9. Made the mistake of picking up the old DS and playing Animal Crossing: Wild World last week... hooked again
  10. Hi Berryitchi - Happy New Year 2019.  I tried sending another email to you at the gmail address you gave me but I am still getting a message back to say that the email account does not exist.  Just wanted to let you know.

  11. Happy Birthday :) Hope you have a great day!

  12. The site looks great. It may take a little while for some of us to get used to the new layout but it feels very user friendly already. I noticed anasmilkbar's comment in the status updates regarding missing signature messages - I've not discovered where (if anywhere) they can be edited / updated - perhaps they're something still to be tweaked or have we lost that feature in the upgrade? (smiley emote checks out!)
  13. Thanks for your message.  I can't send you an email to the address you gave me - I'm getting an "address does not exist" notification.

But I think you're still able to log in and visit the new upgraded site!

  14. What a cool feature! A club that the owner (aka topic starter) can moderate! Sounds good.
