  1. So I went to a white elephant gift exchange, and I actually ended up getting a fake Gigapet (A friend of mine brought it and suggested that I choose her package :p)! It's called a Digapet (they got real creative, I know) but it seems to be just a generic v-pet because the back of the package says it has 160 pets. I opened it up but I haven't tried it out yet because I've heard these things sometimes don't go to sleep, and I don't want to be up all night with it. I read the instructions and they're actually pretty well put together, the English is pretty good and they're pretty well formatted. Although apparently you have to give it laxatives, which is pretty strange, but amusing. XD Has anyone else heard, or owned this fake?
  2. Here’s another oddity, this time found on Mercari. Unfortunately, the listing there already sold, but nevertheless let’s take a looksy. Kids’ smart watches are all over online shops, but this one has a very unique feature packed in. (Unfortunately I can't link the listing so credit to Mercari seller "ocean") Behold the bootlegness in all its glory!! 1)Take a look at the living room. It’s practically the same! Not only that, but the panda character is an edit of Kikitchi’s sprite. Admittedly, this doesn’t look half bad. It’s actually kind of cute! 2)The lock screen is a stolen Bambi drawing! The watch face can be changed between a few different templates. 3)It also features stolen icons from the official Tamas, well, except for the t-shirt thing. The upscale versions of them are also custom sprites. 4)There are also some places to go, including a weird one in the bottom that might be a movie theater? 5)Talking to a weird pink blob 6)Homescreen The watch also features a camera, photo gallery, and fitness stuff. There doesn’t appear to be buttons besides lock, volume, and reset, so this is most likely touch controlled. Later versions by A-Watch replace not-Kikitchi with a generic panda. BUT one listing on Amazon still offers this v-pet, and apparently pandas aren’t the only character! What to look for: -Blue or pink wristband that reads “A-Watch” -Flat surface around the screen with a black border around it and “OK” logo (later versions are a solid blue or pink) -Look for mentions of a pet game or cat icon on the main menu -No calling/texting/GPS tracking feature (common in other kids’ smart watches) Amazon listing: https://www.amazon.c...w_1541834232989 This reminds me of the QPet, and it’s nice they actually made (somewhat) original sprites instead of totally aping Bandai’s work. If you already have one, please share your thoughts. Is this knockoff worthy of its $30 pricetag?
  3. So Ive been looking for new Tamas on the internet and I found that a LOOOT of people buy tamagotchis that are FAKE and I also noticed that the fakes cost wayyyy to much. I thought I would point out the main features of fake Tamas for confused collectors so they dont buy fakes, and here they are: The amount of buttons- most that have over three are not real, although some reals have over three The name- usually if they are just called plainly virtual pet or something like that they will be knock-offs The brand on the back- some brands will put Bandai on the back, but still make sure Hope this helped some of you Tama fans! If you need any help with this, talk to KidRetro64, she knows her stuff. Thank you for reading, Lucky Cat
  4. https://tamagotchiclub.com/collections/view-all/products/round-tamagotchi The ones who don't know much about Tamagotchi might be like:"Omgosh it's a free Tamagotchi, better buy it before it's offsale :DDDDDD" No.Don't you dare. You will regret if you buy a fake Tamagotchi.A lot. They're too noisy and sensitive. If you look at some of the other "virtual pets",you can see they all have invented names, right?Right! And,seriously now,who would buy a fake Tamagotchi for 15 dollars(about 12 euros),when you can make and exposition of fakes bought from Ebay and Aliexpress? I have never seen and heard of some of the "versions"("house edition","bear edition" etc.) and -oh my gosh!-They look so cheap!Just look at the versions and you will thing you're in heaven-Actually,you're not.-. The site looks bad in general, very unorganised, including some pokemon(yay!)t-shirts that,to be honest, don't impress me at all. Ok,you can give it a try, but, please, don't tell me later "Why did you tell me about this site?".I didn't create this site. It's not my fault. Those cost as much as actual Connections. Und jetzt mache ich Schluss(And I'm ending this) P.S.:Don't take this too seriously.I don't try to be rude and "bully" the sellers.Again, you can buy the fakes and t-shirts if you want to,I won't stop you from doing that. Again,CAUTION ON THOSE FAKES!(and in any cheap, fake 'gotchis in general) Note:This was written when they were free, the data might change when you acces the link
  5. I'm sorry if this is the wrong forum to post this in, but I just made an account and never even knew there was something like TamaTalk! I was going through my stuff and found (one of) my old Tamagotchis, and I'm buying a new battery so I can start playing again. I wanted to reminisce a bit so I was googling everything about Tamagotchis, and looking at photos...when I realised my Tamagotchi looked a bit different. I'm starting to wonder if it's fake. I'm from Australia, and my mother bought it at Kmart. I forgot the year she bought it but it was around 2004-2009. I was in primary school (years kindergarten to six). All the Tamagotchis I saw on google images had the Tamagotchi logo on the top...mine doesn't. At the back of the Tamagotchi, it does say @BANDAI, but it says it was made in China? Aren't all Tamagotchis made in Japan? The Tamagotchi (whether it's real or fake) that I have is one of the Connection versions. I remember playing on TamaTown a lot...would I be able to be on TamaTown if my Tamagotchi was fake? Some photos I took of my Tamagotchi: [FRONT] [bACK] It says: @BANDAI, WIZ 2004 BANDAI 2004 MADE IN CHINA I should add that the battery in it (that has been in it from purchase) says: (first line) maxell (second line) CR2032 H (third line) 3 V and then at the bottom it says Hitachi Maxell, Ltd Japan. The screw looks a little weird and looks like it's sticking out but that's only because I took the back part off to get the battery and haven't screwed it back in place yet! So what's the verdict? Is my Tamagotchi fake or not? If it isn't, would somebody tell me what version it is and how I was able to go onto TamaTown? I'll honestly be very disappointed if it is but I'll just buy a real one this time, haha.
  6. Hey friends, if you follow the mail thread you know I'd been seriously eyeing this fake pikachu pet for a while and finally it's arrived! I've got a lot of images and apparently tamatalk doesn't have the thumbnail image tag, so I'll be linking them because they're rather large Here's what the package looked like when it arrived. Pretty small, but just the same as the seller's photo! Until, of course, I slid the plastic off the backing card... What did they do to Ash's legs?? The back of the package had instructions in Spanish(?) on it, but they didn't actually line up with the icons in the actual game, so they were pretty useless. The Pikachu stands on his own, which is pretty cool! I think the only other pet I have that does that is the mid-2000s Giga Pet. Here's the first stage! The opening animation showed a little wagon rolling along, and then I was left with this little ant to take care of. He looks pretty grumpy, but so far he's been very easy to care for! I don't think I've seen his hunger or happy meters go down yet. You can play the same little dancing game as the P1s with him. The little guy doesn't actually stop dancing the moment you press the button, like many other VPs, which adds to the challenge of this one. It plays a funky little pentatonic-scale tune when you start the game. When you turn the lights out, it shows a door closing animation then it stays on this house. Maybe this is how you pause the game? I'll find out when I take him to work, I guess! The use of the 4 buttons was really not obvious at first. A activates the menu, but is also the accept button, so if you press A twice he just gets grumpy because you tried to feed him when he's not hungry. After the menu is activated, A accepts, C advances the menu, B goes backward in the menu, and D cancels. When the menu is not activated, D opens the clock, which just sets to midnight when you boot, and it's up to you to figure out how to change it. I was surprised that this VP had a ROM I hadn't seen before! I was expecting the program to be one of those generic 128-in-1 ROMs that you can get for 20c on ebay, and I was buying it just for the hilarious case. The plastic does feel a little cheap, and his tail wiggles a bit, but I still think this little guy was worth the price of admission.
  7. Hi! I've recently found my childhood Raku Raku Dino-Kun, I was wondering if it's fake or genuine. It's probably fake, considering that I live in Argentina (country where there's no copyright law and almost all video games and toys are bootlegs). Homewer, mine mets all the criteria for a real one, so, I would like that someone could tell me the definitive answer. Photos: (Sorry for the big size, :S)
  8. For anyone who may not have seen this yet, there is a seller on Ebay with the username globewang2013 selling tons of knockoff Tamagotchi Connections. The titles of each listing say "Virtual Pet Cyber Pet Toy 49 Pets in One 90s Nostalgic Toy Tiny Tamagotchi." The pictures look like your standard knockoff, but these actually have the Tamagotchi Connection logo on the front to fool people into thinking they're getting the real deal. Buyers beware!!
  9. Hello everyone! I purposefully got a fake virtual pet just to play around with 'cause it was only $2. Upon starting it up, it said "168 in 1" and I could choose a pet, starting with a bunny. I scrolled through the pets, seeing a variety of animals and people, as well as things I couldn't make up because each "pixel" is huge 'cause it's actually made up of four pixels. I saw random stuff like boats and robots, but I also saw random cartoon characters like Spongebob Squarepants and Patrick Star, Megaman, and various Digimons. But best of all I saw some Tamagotchi characters with horrendous sprites. All the Tamagotchi characters appeared one after the other instead of mixed throughout the pets. And I also realized a Mametchi/Mimitchi creature appears on the case of the toy. XD Here's a pic of all the Tamagotchis. WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU MEMETCHI I chose Young Mimitchi and to my surprise, the virtual pet made an explosion-like beep and an explosion appeared on my screen...and then, Young Mimitchi appeared. What a violent way to be born. BTW you can name the pet but you have to choose from a variety of 3-letter names, like Jim, Bob, Eve, Joy, etc. The Status and Select buttons both do the same thing (they serve as Tamagotchis' "A" button). The icons are identical to that of the Tamagotchi Version 4. I played around with it and on the Heart Icon, instead of connection, it has random activities for the pet to do. I tried playing on the computer and for some reason I got 37 "Gold" which is used to buy stuff at the shop. I went to the Shop but it doesn't say the prices of the items, so I have no idea how much I need to buy something. XD When I feed my pet it shows a Babytchi eating and for most of the other animations, it shows a bird. There are two games; one is catching frisbees and the other is flying a spaceship and avoiding other spacecrafts. I also noticed that under the chest icon, besides the toybox, there is a place for entering codes. But of course I have no way of knowing what the codes are. The pet is simple and silly but okay to have a bit of fun with. Sorry for typing so much but basically I want to know if anyone has seen a knock-off with this specific coding before, or even seen the shell before. Note: It wasn't the common 49-in-1 guts, as I also have a knock-off with that coding and it was different from this. Kinda similar but I'd say this one I've written about in my post is better.
  10. I can't afford buying teal tamagotchis.please help me find some fake ones.. *TM Edit: Topic moved to What's On Your Mind? forum (from Tamagotchi Warnings forum)
  11. (Apologies if the title is misleading!!) I'm interested in getting a Tamagotchi V3 because, in my opinion, it's the best "basic" Tamagotchi toy out there; I lost the Blue Camo one I purchased years ago and I've regretted it ever since. I've been extremely diligent in trying to find one that is brand new and in a shell color/design that I'd be happy with using every day, the thrilling feeling of cracking into the packaging of your brand new friend is amazing and rewarding, but finding one in English has been a pain only made worse by the limited amount of sellers willing to ship items to Canada. However, there are several sealed, unused, and affordable V3s on eBay boasting "JAPAN IMPORT" in their ad titles. I understand that these will be in the Japanese language (I am interested in learning, and Tamagotchis are generally user-friendly, as they use symbols, actions, sounds, and expressions to convey most of their needs; text and language are secondary to this, as all of you know) but I am concerned about their legitimacy, as I am not well read into the differences between the Japanese and North American releases. So, I am reaching out in hopes of some guidance so I do not waste my already dwindling funds on a leisure toy that will certainly bring me happiness and a good dose of nostalgia. Here are a few examples of the V3s I've found that I am also interested in: one two three four (Note that I am assuming they are V3s due to the antenna(?) decoration present on their shells) Thank you in advance to anyone who can provide me with some comprehensive information on this topic, and to all those who are reading.
  12. So I totally made this account to lurk on people's tamas and to keep an eye out for fakes. I've been looking to buy an Angel so here's one I found. It's cute and pink and looks official AND comes with a case, BUT the background is a bunch of flowers. Is this a fake angel, with some other tamagotchi guts in the shell? The seller is in America so it sounds reputable but I'm not willing to throw down $20 for something broken. (direct link to the pic / pic2)
  13. Hi, I'm deciding whether buying a tamagotchi on ebay. Its a snowflake thing and I don't know what version it is. Can you help me please? It has snowflakes on it and it's halve white, halve blue. It doesn't have an antenna and it's got the red connecting thing at the top too. please help. Do you know any designs like it?
  14. I'm thinking of buying these two but I don't know if they're fake? they look original to me but I don't know please help!!
  15. Okay so I haven't bought a tamagotchi in ages. (That's not strictly true, I bought a Princess Spacy IDL not too long ago...) Okay so I haven't bought a Connection Tamagotchi in ages. So I was on ebay UK and was looking at some listings, and I came across this thing: Weird? It was described as a Version 2. The screen looks small, but if the cardboard background behind it is the same size as average V2s, the shell must be bigger... Perhaps? My guess was maybe a Deka, but I'm not even sure Bandai did Dekas like this. I've never seen anything like it. My second guess was "Omigosh fake tama", but then the seller posted this picture, and I'm sure it looks legit enough if it says "© Bandai Wiz 2004" on it. Well, I won it, anyway. It looks kinda coolish, and the seller's listing was right - it will look kind of good in my collection. So what do you guys think? Ever seen this thing around before? I googled it and looked at funny tama shells but I didn't find anything. Then again, and I've said this before, my searching skills aren't very.... Unlimited.
  16. Hello everyone!! I was giving an eye on ebay and I found this: http://www.ebay.it/itm/TAMAGOTCHI-WHITE-DRAW-YOUR-OWN-DESIGN-EXTREMELY-RARE-WORKING-AND-UNUSED-/111442233628?pt=Trading_Card_Games_US&hash=item19f279891c The owner says it's a prototype of Tamagotchi V5 familitchi.... but the last pic is different: it has a round rear and its pearl, not totally blank. Do you think Bandai really made blank tamagotchis so you could paint them yourself? I searched on google but I found nothing about this.... However, how could one safely paint his own tamagotchi?
  17. Hi everyone!! It's my first time posting here and I would like some help I've just purchased this Version 3 Tamagotchi on Ebay. The seller has 100% positive feedback ratings but I'm just a little worried as I can't find this shell design on the internet anywhere? The packaging looks legit but the Tamagotchi itself does not have the logo on it. What do you think? Is it a region specific design or something? Thank you!!
  18. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Tamagotchi-Electronic-Toy-/390891615734 I'm not sure, this one doesn't look right to me because of the logo. That logo was only used on Music Stars (and only the later ones, that I'm aware of,) and that design on the tama is a US design iirc. Anyone know for sure?
  19. Is it really so good, so dear, a big wide grin from ear to ear? I tried to smile everyday, determined to never say nay, the glass is always half-full. But people saw that as an excuse, a permit, and ok, to do whatever they may. It's just a joke they say, and proceed to ruin my day. Those booty-bumps HURT! I want my stuff back! My sanity feels like it's going to crack... Yet there's nothing I can do but smile back. (I tried to make it rhyme, but failed. Whoops.)
  20. Hi everyone, First off, sorry if this is in the wrong place- I am new to this forum (but for some reason, signed up in 2006, lol). I recently wanted to purchase a tamagotchi again to relive the nostalgia. I did my research and bought what I thought was a genuine tama from ebay - sealed in packaging. I looked over the packaging carefully and it appeared to be genuine; no broken english, all the right logos, etc. I got the tamagotchi and everything seemed perfectly normal with the tama itself - it had the correct evolutions and features. However I noticed today that it is missing the "Tamagotchi connexion" writing on the top. Does this mean it's a fake? Here are the pictures of the packaging from the auction, and my pictures of it I took today. this next one might be hard to see, but this is the writing on the back: © bandai, wiz 2004 bandai 2004 made in china
  21. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/49-in-1-TAMAGOTCHI-CONNECTION-ELECTRONIC-PET-BRAND-NEW-GREAT-FUN-/111272239163?pt=UK_Toys_ElectronicPets_RL&hash=item19e857a03b&_uhb=1 I found these fake tamagotchis they are obviously fakes! Read the sellers negative ratings and they are all on the Tamagotchis! Do not buy unless you want that fake haha!
  22. Spotted these yesterday: http://www.thystoys.nl/kinderspellen/26408-tamagotchi-connection-9414860031660.html?utm_source=beslistslimmershoppen&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=beslist&utm_content=default1 They are probably sold in other countries as well.
  23. http://loveyourfaketamagotchi.blogspot.ca/ I hope it helps any of you.
  24. OK, my friend wanted a Tamagotchi, and she asked me if the price was too high so she sent me a link to the product, but when I looked at the website...IT'S TOTALLY FAKE! Here's an image of the Tama she wants: As you can see, IT'S PRETTY UGLY! Oh sorry the image is a bit big but it wouldn't let me scale it down ^^; First thing we see is that the word Tamagotchi is NOWERE on the package. Instead it says Ura-pet which I have no clue what that means! Second, it has a female symbol on it! Real Bandai tamas do not have this regardless of the generation!!!! Third....IT HAS JD'S SYMBOL!!!!!!! I told my friend that this was a fake and she ended up buying a real one on eBay. THIS IS A WARNING!
  25. I just bought an angelgotchi on ebay, it was 27 dollars, and I couldn't resist. The listing was "tomagotchi Angel Gotchi (japanese version) new". I wasn't sure at first because they listed it as "tomagotchi"....but I went ahead anyway. I didn't want it to miss out on it, because other than that it seems totally legitimate. The picture shows it in original packaging. what do you think? http://www.ebay.com/itm/121151354720?ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1439.l2649 If that doesn't show up, try this link....http://amoebasinthesun.tumblr.com/image/56742011828 I'm hoping it's true to the picture, because I had a bad experience with a knockoff before, and even though this is covered by eBay buyer protection, I would rather have a happy purchase than not.
