  1. Just a few minutes ago I pressed the C button on my Fairy On - an English Tamagotchi - and my twins (Tingulltchi and Jingulltchi) said this: Never before have I seen a whole line of Japanese dialogue on my English On and even though the translation can be rough in places, they've never presented something outside of the Latin alphabet. I wonder if they are actually saying in Japanese what is usually rendered as "hello" normally. I also wonder if this was either a line that was left untranslated - it occurred for me during 9 p.m. on my On's clock - or if it was a side-effect of connecting my On several times with my Pastel Meets - I got the twins on my On up to the highest friendship with my twins on my Meets. I know that the On - and also the Connection Tamagotchis - do recognize and preserve Japanese text as evident by the entries in the friend list for connections with Japanese tamas. So far, none of the other text has changed to Japanese which leans more in favor of this being untranslated dialogue as opposed to glitch dialogue. Has anyone else seen this textbox on his/her On? (I put the "Meets" tag in due to character restrictions preventing both searching and categorizing this post as being for the "On".)
  2. So, I have the set of Tamagotchis called "Tamagotchu", I believe, and I really don't understand how they work too well. I know that they need to be connected every once in a while, but it seems that sometimes when I connect them they get mad at each other? Does anyone know what this is and what's happening?
  3. Hey everyone, I'm starting to learn Japanese and since a lot of people here seem to know some basics, I was wondering if anyone has any tips or suggestions for good resources. I like Duolingo a lot for language learning and it works pretty well for latin and germanic languages since they're similar to English and French, but I'm finding it inadequate for something as different like Japanese with a whole different system of writing. To give you an idea of where I'm at, I'm working on memorizing hiragana and katakana at the moment and I don't have a lot of vocabulary yet. I'd welcome suggestions on more advanced topics as well though so I can use them later! My goal is just to have some basic reading skills, largely for the purpose of playing unlocalized video games (and Tamagotchis of course). So let me know if you have any tips or things that helped you when you were learning!
  4. I recently purchased a Tamagotchi in Japanese. As you probably know they are not clearly labeled with version types, so I am turning to this group for help. This is the full name of my product hanerutchi Kon Navy Ketai Kaitsu Tamagotchi Bandai Japan. Here is a picture. P.S. If anyone has a version of this type in Japanese and would like to give me a sort of translation guide, that would be very helpful. I just need basic translations like Food= then the word. This is also my first time in this group so a warm welcome would be nice. Thank you in advance Sincerely, a new member.
  5. Hello, I will be in Japan, in Narita, and I would like to buy Tamagotchis as a gift for a sibling of 4 children. Can you answer me the following questions: 1) Are Japanese Tamagotchis exclusively in the Japanese language? A person, don’t knowing Japanese, would be capable to use it? We can ask the seller to make the necessary settings (if it is necessary, I do not know at all how it works)? 2) Which models will you advise me? I have two criteria. First, I would like children playing together, interaction between the Tamagotchis could be possible. Second, children have a fairly large age gap between them (12 - 7 - 5 - 3 years), so it is probably better to choose different models for the younger ones and for the older ones. 3) Where to buy Tamagotchie? At a duity free at Narita airport, AEON shopping center or Naritasan Omotesando? Thank you in advance!
  6. I think this needs a new topic instead of posting in the old 4U topic, so here it goes! Tamagotchi 4U+ is a new Japanese color release, an updated version of the 4U, to be released on July 18. It comes in 8 colors: Lavender, Baby Pink, Sky Blue, Lime Green, Light Purple, Peach Orange, Rose Pink, and Lemon Yellow. One of the new features is Item Upgrades. You can send something to another 4U+ and it will upgrade into something else. Two new characters are Lovesoratchi and Candy Pakupaku. Have fun discussing.
  7. Hey guys, I was wondering if you could help me identify what shell this tama is? The closest I could find only was in english and appears to be a Hanatchi Blue shell but I'm not sure. Thank you so much for looking and I hope you can help!
  8. Hi guys. I'm really interested in getting one of the Blue home Deka's (The one where you build a house, not the King of Games). I've done some research as best as I can and the most detailed instructions I found where these. Their great and it seems self explanatory enough but a few questions I can't find answers to: *What are the items you can buy to send to the Ketai/Akai? Are they different to the items you can get with codes? *It has a huge point storage but what is the payout for winning games? The link I posted mentions it's dependent on the character you play with but gives no rough idea. It's selling point for me is being able to use it as a shop for my Akai as it takes forever to make money on it. So really I'm wanting to know if it'll be good as a money maker for the Akai, and if it will give more items. Thanks guys.
  9. A short, Japanese Tamagotchi manga has been released on Tamagotchi Channel to read online for free. Click her for the PDF: Alternatively you can right click the link and save it. It's about two girls as they raise their Tamagotchi 4Us (it's not connected to the anime). It's really cute and the end is sad but heart-warming. Do you like it?
  10. There's a contest for making your own Tamagotchi 4U character. I can kinda read it, but do you have to buy one of the items at Tama Depa in order to enter? I guess you can only enter if you live in Japan >.< Can someone who is better at Japanese help confirm how to enter?
  11. Hey everyone! Haven't been here in ages; this is my first post in six months. I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with this toy, but it's also from Bandai. There isn't a whole lot of information about this toy, which is sort of surprising. I've seen some topics here on TamaTalk about it, but they were from a few years ago, and not much discussion. I also went ahead and scanned the manual. The whole thing is in Japanese, so it'd be great if someone could translate it. The toy is pretty straightforward to operate, but there are some things that I would like to know what they say. This line in particular seems to be talking about a saving function, but I don't know how it works: I was considering doing a log, but it's already been running for two days, and I don't want to reset my progress. But feel free to ask any questions about my experiences with it.
  12. Hello, I just got a keitai akai and I'm on my 4th generation now... I was wondering what are the ways to fill the training bar? I don't know if I did the right thing but when I saw it angry/mad I praised it and it did nothing (the training bar didn't go up) The next time it got mad I punished it instead but it got angry at me (with the angry tone) and the training bar stayed the same. What am I supposed to do to earn training? I've gotten the worst care characters (Kurokotchi and Gozarutchi) for three generations now and I want to try getting better characters Is it simply a glitch that happens on mine? Any tips will be greatly appreciated...thanks so much in advance!!
  13. Okay hey guys. I've been hearing about the awesome (IMO) Tamagotchi versions that are now in color. I was hoping you guys will tell me about them. I want a Tama that has a lots of features but not something that requires extras to have fun with it. For example, the Tama-Go. I enjoy it but it gets a little annoying you have to buy extra add-ons to unlock more games. I want a Tamagotchi that doesn't need extra stuff like that, I want a Tama that is self-contained. Finally, are all the color sizes the same? What is the biggest Tama color, and the smallest. Thanks again!
  14. Hi guys! I've had my Uratama for 2 days now, but I found something a little bit weird, He is still a toddler, I started it up the 9th at 7 AM, and right now it's 5 PM on the 11th, so it has been like 2 days and a half, and he is still a toddler. Are toddlers 3 days on this version? or is it there a glitch or something? I changed the batterie once, but I don't think that would delay the evolution process over 1 day, right? O.o
  15. Hello everyone, I wonder if anybody could give a roughly translation of the following pictures, please? - - The messages appears when I connect my P's with my sister's one and I'm curious what it means. It would be very nice if anybody could help^^ Thanks in advance.
  16. I know I whimpered about this before, but I thought I'd try it again in case someone new is watching. I'm playing with my Pocket Breeder pet again, and I'm still as confused as before. I'm slowly starting to get the hang of some of the functions, but I wish I knew what to do when it came to training and racing. My horse seems to get sick after every training session and loses every race. My friend scanned the instructions, but they're in Japanese. Sorry the one page is tilted. If anyone has any ideas, tips, experiences, or can read this to me for storytime, I'd love to hear from you. Thanks in advance, peace, love and Tamagotchi.
  17. Hello! I tried Googling and searching through the forums here before I made the topic. I just got my Ouchi no Deka Tamagotchi in the mail and it's in Japanese. With the original gotchi's it's not a problem because I know what everything is from the English versions, but unfortunately I have no reference for this one!! If anyone knows of a translated manual or basic instructions in English for the ouchi no deka (big blue tama with designs on it and the red heart sensor) PLEASE help me out!!! Thank you so much and I'm really sorry if this was covered already, but I haven't figured out how to search the forums properly. I did spend over an hour manually going through the topics though, so I wasn't being lazy about it. THANK YOU ALL!!!
  18. I would like to know because as soon as I am working *which won't be until june next year as I am going to be a stay at home mother soon* I want to at least buy ONE tamagotchi a month with saved money set aside, but that most likely will be every few months. amazon seems to have good set prices, where else is there that isn't really expensive if its international shipping?
  19. I couldn't find an already existing topic on this (feel free to post a link if I missed it ) so here I am. I was wondering if it's possible to connect a Japanese languaged iD L with an English languaged iD L?
  20. I'm not really familiar with the Japanese Connections yet so I was wondering if one of you knows exactly what Tamagotchi this is; I've been watching this item for quite some time now because I'm looking for a UraTama but I'm not sure if this is one of them. Does anybody here recognize it? --- EDIT: I feel quite stupid now because I scrolled down and saw 'URATAMA' in huge red letters I guess the word 'GUTS' confused me. What does that word mean..? And how about the price; is it acceptable?
  21. Hello, I kinda bought a Japanese tamagotchi so I need help with finding a translation of the instructions >.> Does anyone know what version this is? Here is what is on the menu; the first and the third one (below), I can't understand ;A; If anyone knows what it is for, and what version it is, please help! D:
  22. I really want to buy the Tamagotchi Plus Color, but I'm not sure if it comes in English. Also, does anyone know a reliable site I can buy from?
  23. Hey, A while ago when I was thinking of getting an iD L but was curious about how people understood. Someone said that here are a lot of guides online. I was just wondering where I could find a really good guide that shows all the japanese on the iD L in English translations, and if anyone has any tips for the iD L please let me know. Thanks! music_chick_05
  24. Ok so I've thought about this for a while now and decided to finally ask. Tamagotchis namned v1, v2, v3, and so on up untiltil tama-go are called Connections, or Connexions for the european counterparts. As many of you know, there is a group of similar, paralelly released tamagotchis in japanese, such as the tamagotchi +, ketai (or keitama), akai ketai, entama, uratama, hanerutchi, hanerutchi 2... My question is simply if there is a known group name for these non-vintage, non-colour, connection-similair, japanese tamas. I find myself referring to them as "japanese connections" and it just doesn't sound quite right...
  25. I'm thinking about buying a tama profy c: theyre so cute and i love the fact that they are touch screen and in japanese (i understand a little japanese, and some people have put up translations so its all good (y) ) But im not really clear on what the object of the tama is o.o what do you do on it? whats the purpose? is it fun? D: these are the questions that haunt me!
