  1. Hello, folks! In spite of easter, I decided a few days ago to run my Usatama in celebration. I went ahead today and removed the old batteries, and popped in the new. I’d done this numerous times before, so I didn’t think anything of it. As soon as I put the new ones in, the screen was black. All the pixels were filled in (which gave me hope, as that meant the batteries were making contact) apart from a few ‘scrambled’ ones in the top left corner. I took them out immediately, as I didn’t want to damage in device further and permanently damage the screen. When my Dad got back (the one who helps me with all of my Tama-issues) he tried himself, with more dead pixels in different patterns. He tried resetting, nothing. There were just random pixels on the screen (image attached for reference to what they roughly looked like at the time) with no response from the reset or ABC buttons. We tried again, this time the clock displaying and the device beeping. As I finally thought it worked, the ‘12’ which was supposed to be on the left side of the screen was.. missing? I tried to click ABC over and over, but it appeared to be frozen. Took them out again, and put them back in. Not expecting much. There was more garbage on the screen and then.. clicking? It sounded like something was going horribly wrong in the battery compartment. It went on clicking until I demanded my Dad to take out the batteries before it completely short-circuited itself. Since then, it’s been displaying dead pixels on and off, but most of the time nothing at all. The buttons are unresponsive, along with the speaker and reset. I also want to mention a few things before I get suggested them, as I have already tried most of the Google results provided! The brand of batteries is Duracel, which is the same brand I used for the batteries previously, along with all of my other virtual pets. I’ve never had any issues with their batteries until now. While all of this was happening, the battery cover was off, meaning nothing was causing pressure on the batteries or LCD. I’ve ran this Tamagotchi without any hassle before, this is the first time it has happened. The batteries and compartment are completely clean and intact. I’d appreciate it greatly if anyone had any advice or ideas on how to resolve this issue, it would mean a lot to me and my Tama! Here is what we are getting on the screen right now (With batteries in). When we take them out, simply nothing is displayed. It was showing completely black before, but it looks similar to this; You can clearly see faint and darker lines scattered across the screen, but before it was similar to garbage sprites and pixels. Hopefully this gives people a better idea of what i’m dealing with!
  2. Hello! I'm having that Devilgotchi for many yeas, it was stored in a drawer. Recently, I reactivated it and somehow it has some LCD like looking stains at the corners of the screen... Luckily these stains are very minimal and are not bothering much, but i still find it a bit sad. Does anybody know what could have caused these? Does anyone know how to fix it? Thanks in advance. In the top left corner
  3. while i was browsing ebay, i noticed a tamagotchi mini but there was something on the screen(some type of animation)i haven't seen before.. (since i'm canadian i use if you look at the photo's, the screen has something on it I never seen before, idk if this is a secret character or a dummy animation.. can anyone explain this please? another thing is an unusual color of a tamagotchi angel... bronze with silver wings??
  4. My Digimon has 3 missing vertical lines on the screen. I have opened it up and cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, but the lines are still there. Any recommendations?
  5. I'm looking for Tamagotchi's to buy and this particular listing is a V4.5. It has a crinkle in the screen? It's really confusing me... I'm concerned about it, and if it means anything or not. I don't know if you can really see it from here, and I've been looking at this listing for days waiting for the seller to return from vacation so I could make an offer and I just noticed it. It's in the lower lefthand corner of the screen. What do you guys think that is? Overview; I've been looking at this tamagotchi listing for a while and just noticed a crinkle in the screen. What is it and is it safe to purchase? Thanks!
  6. Today, after being prompted by the success of restoring my V4's sound with duct tape, I decided to clean off the button contacts of my V3 which had becoming more and more unresponsive. To make a long story short, I cleaned of the contacts and the buttons themselves, let them dry, and screwed the whole thing back together, and was greeted by a third of the screen missing. I screamed. Although, my screams are more of a sudden, perhaps a single pitch upward, "no!". In the next few moments I panickedly worked on my V3, fixed it, and breathed a sigh of relief. It was completely reset but that was a small price to pay for a still working Tamagotchi. I was so relieved that I barely noticed how responsive the buttons were, the real reason I had decided to mess with it in the first place. What fixed my V3's screen problems was simply turning the screws on the back of the circuit board the farthest they would go. As I encountered the same screen problems when I took apart my Angelgotchi - a story I may just one day recount - I've concluded this a general Tamagotchi reassembly principal. Thus, if any screen problems - be it faded pixels, blank screen sections, or a blinking low battery symbol - appear after taking apart a Tamagotchi, make sure that the screws on the circuit board are tightened the farthest they will go. And as a little extra advice, make sure the reset button is in place and the screen is clean before finally screwing a Tamagotchi back together. :^)
  7. Dear all ! I'm new, and after long search I did'nt find my response. I bought an Agel Gotch in japanese version on blister and with the battery strip. Now, I play with for 1/2 month, and on my screen appear the word "BATT" This is a battery problem ? or something more serious ? :'( Thank for your help !
  8. Hi, guys! I have a 1997 P2 Tamagotchi in need of some kind of diagnosis and repair... I can't remember exactly when I noticed this, but the bottom 1/3 of the screen is completely blank. Because of this, I can't see the bottom row of icons. It is strictly a screen issue, as I can still select and use those icons, I just have had to memorize them so that I would know what I was selecting. The rest of the screen works fine and I can see the top row and the character on the screen. I have taken apart and repaired Tamagotchis in the past, so if anyone has any suggestions on how I might be able to fix this, let me know. It might just be a connection issue where something inside isn't making a strong enough connection to the screen to display the pixels. I would like to see if anyone has had a similar problem and solution before I open it without knowing exactly what to do. Here is a picture for reference... I tried to tilt the Tama so that you can clearly see the top 2/3 of the screen is displaying pixels while the bottom 1/3 is blank and the icons do not show. Any help or suggestions is appreciated! *mimitchi*
  9. I got my Tamagotchi Friends in the mail today and one of them has dust under the screen. I hope it can be possible to take it apart to clean the screen somehow. I was wondering if anyone here on Tamatalk has taken apart their TF successfully? There's only 2 screws behind the battery cover and the rest of the tama seems stuck together.
  10. Well guys, I got my TMGC+C 2 weeks ago and I've been running it since then, It's my first color tama, so I don't know if this is normal or not, nor how to fix it you know how sometimes when you blow at a smartphone's screen inside of bed the colors on it turn blurry and weird? I think this is a wet screen or something, I don't really know how to call it, well, the screen of my TMGC+C is looking like that, blurry and with weird colors I don't know how it happened, I'm guessing is because of the humid air or the random weather changes, (it was suppersunny some days ago, and now is raining...) I just wanted to know, is there any way to fix the screen? will it go back to normal? or will I have to keep using it this way? :'(
  11. Hello! I saw a picture of someone's customized Tamagotchi a few weeks ago; it has stayed in my mind and I can't stop thinking about it!! Their Connection's screen was Glow In The Dark. I don't know how they did that. Maybe it's glow paint? Or glow tape! You can get a big lot for like 5$ on Ebay. Do you think it would work? And does the glow tape lose it's glow with time? Any other ideas? Thank you very much!!
  12. hey guys, i'm a little worried about the screen of my iD L. yesterday my 2nd generation started with a nittobotchi. at the same evening he evolved into kaubotchi and immediately fell asleep. this morning i fed him for the 1st time a rice bowl from the fridge. and every time i feed him, the background going red. as you can see, kaubtochi, the chair, desk and the food have the normal color, but the whole background is red. note: this happens only by feeding from the fridge. when he's eating outside, the background has the normal color. does this happend to anyone else before? do i have to be scared? what can i do?
  13. I have lots of scratches on my Tamagotchi P's, both on the screen and off the screen. Some of them are really bugging me, and I'm wondering if there is any way to remove them? They're not clearly visible, but you can see a few bumps/scratches. I'm willing to buy any scratch remover or just use a tip.
  14. My p's screen goes black without the low battery warning appearing. You can still hear the sounds and play with it but it's very hard to see, like in old videogame consoles. Sometimes, with a light knock from behind the light seems to come up again, but it's usually not very long until it goes off or starts flickering. It seems like it could be a contact problem with the batteries (which are brand new). Does anyone know if there is a way to fix that? Maybe by messing around a bit with the battery slots or something? Thanks!
  15. this isn't an problem or glitch that i'm having with my game, but my Tama-Go keeps doing this and would love some more info! sometimes, when i leave my Tama-Go alone for a while, my Violetchi will go to this area with a star on the floor, coins in the air on the left, and a little rabbit toy (?) in the air on the right. she gets excited about the rabbit. here's a picture for reference: like i said earlier, this isn't an ISSUE, i just don't understand what it means - whenever the screen appears, i always expect Violetchi to choose one of the two things, or have something else appear on the screen. whenever i press a button it just returns back to the living room with her husband and baby. any clues????????????
  16. So I got a Digimon D3 and noticed the screen scratched up here and there. I'm rather OCD about my stuff so looked for a way to fix the screen if possible. I read about Displex on here but was iffy about spending so much on such a tiny bottle of something I wasn't sure would work. Looked around online and then found out about Meguiar's Plastx. This stuff works great, it's not harsh at all and got rid of most of my scratches. It's a plastic cleaner and polish all in one and it's only about 6 bucks at Wal-Mart for a 295mL/10 fl oz bottle. A lot more for your buck than Displex! You can find it in the automotive section next to the waxes. Here's a link to it on the store site:
  17. If any one read my last topic, then you are aware I just got my first iD L and it is in English. It is a major deal for me, and my friend helped me out and paid for most of it. I only had it for about a week, but I am sooo paranoid about taking care of it. I am afraid it is gonna break, because if it does I wont be able to get another one any time soon. I try so hard to take care of it, but it has a few scratches on the screen...even after wiping it with a special cloth for glasses lenses. ;_; I am vowing now to try to never take it out of the house again. I know about screen protectors ..but I am broke right now. (Very complicated and long story..when I say broke I mean it. ) What really worried me though, is a few nights ago I noticed the brightness on my screen kind of flashing. Like it would get a little brighter then a little dimmer for a moment. The batteries were I just don't know what the heck that meant. It does this every once in awhile. I also tried to make a pouch, but I think that was not the best fabric for the screen. I heard rumors that the English wasn't made that well, and that white and yellow (as mine is) were unpopular colors and also not made as well. I know I am worrying a lot...but this is a big deal to me. I want it to last forever lol. So, how long do these things hold up? I have had mine like 6 days, and even some of the silver around the edge has peeled off. I take such good care of it... Has anyone just had one die on them?
  18. Using Displex is the best way to remove scratches from a tamagotchi screen. -False or True?
  19. It turns on and functions BUT I can be in the middle of a game and the screen fades away? My pet is not constantly visible on the screen and I have to push a button on him to make him show up. Is this normal I wonder???
  20. Hi! I made this topic because I'm soon getting a 15th anni. iD L and I NEED to keep it in good condition. However, all my Tamas so far, particularly my iD Ls and iD L Princess Spacy, have fallen to screen damage. My first iD L's screen is beyond terrible, I can barely see the screen, and my second iD L has about ten scratches. My Princess Spacy is in some ways the worst, although it is not yet two months old - half the screen is lighter than the other half and it has two major scratches. How do I keep the screens in good condition? Please help!
