that depends, if your tamagotchi had a baby, itll leave 2 nights after the birth of the tama, otherwise, i cant help you

it leaves 24 hours after it has the baby. that's what i heard.

it leaves on the second night of having the baby at midnight

If you want to watch the parent leave, just stay up until midnight. I've almost always done that.

After 2 nights with the adult and the baby, the mommy or daddy leaves. It's then up to you to take care of the baby. If you tamagotchi was the 1st generation, the baby will become the 2nd generation ( then the 3rd, then the 4th etc. etc.).
