Items from the shop

Hi! I just got a tama V.2 on friday, and now I have an adorable little young mametchi(named yoh.) I just wanted to know about the items from the store. I have two questions.

1.Is it true only adults can use most items?

2.Can all adults use all items, or can certain ones only use certain items?(I need to know this cause I've already bought loads of items I can't use on my young mametchi, and I'd like to know when to stop... )

Mostly things like hairgel, hat, wigs, boots, etc. can only be used by adults!
