i kinda know how to put the codes in but it wont work. first you go to the shop keeper then you push (A) (until he looks surprised) then you push in the codes but that part wont work.

What do you mean? Maybe you're pressing A too fast, and it's counting it as part of your code. You need to be careful not to overdo it. You don't know what buttons to push? Do you need a list of all the codes?

Look:

Did you find a secret code?

At the shop counter screen , press (A). Then, press (A) quickly 3 times. When the shop owners face appears surprised, punch in secret code t reveal a new item.
