Well, they change in different rates. First, you should tell which Tamagotchi you have(V1, V2, etc.). Second, is it a teen? Baby? Adult? If you tell that information, it will be easier to help.

Don't know your version, but mine (4.5) went from baby to toddler in about 1 hour. He hasn't reached teen yet..

this is right. I have had tamas for 2-3 years.
