i will be judging on creativity and rhyming.(i know that sometimes they don't rhyme, but i want these to rhyme)

all entries must be posted as replies to the topic, no links to other sites.

there is no prize, just knowing that you won will be a good enough prize.

(if you are like me, usually you don't win contests.)

Bleeding To Nothing

Once there was a bleeding heart

So it was taken away in a cart

It had a bad feeling

As if its life were peeling

Something had torn it apart

lol... this kinda stinks. You see, im in 7th grade and one of my classes made me write a poem....

Up to the sky

the poor bird looked,

it wished it could fly,

so it wouldn't be cooked.

It thought of its demise,

it would try not to cry,

then it started to rise,

it was going to try.

The night seemed to stand still,

then the bird gave out a slight cry,

'cause so strong was its will,

with a broken wing, it could fly.

P.S. The actual one was different, I couldn't remember it all, so I improvised

Freezing cold wintry nights,

Even colder days.

Children cooped up in their house,

Keeping the chills away.

Looking through the frosty panes

At the barren trees.

Waiting for the buds to burst

And the end to the wintry freeze.

Cool refreshing showers,

Bright, clear, starry nights.

Children running in the sun

Marveling at the flowers bright.

Runny noses and watery eyes.

Hay fever strikes again!

Itchy pollen in the air-

Cant wait for Spring to end.

Hot, still, Summer nights,

Dry, crisp, Summer days.

Children playing in the pool,

Splashing the heat away.

Crickets chirp and mozzies buzz.

Sleep seems never to come.

Dying plants and melting ice-cream,

Summer quickly loses its fun.

Not too hot and not too cold,

Autumn is finally here.

The sun has faded

And the snows up north-

It’s the perfect time of year!

The golden leaves fall from the branches,

And are carried on the breeze.

To rest in piles on the ground

And wait for the wintry freeze.

I have never liked it...but I don't know.

I am sorry that i broke you

right in two

I am sorry that i yelled at you

I didn't have a right to do that

yet i did

I am sorry what my friends said

They acted like Jerks

They didn't have good looks

But when i cried

they laughed

My Big Brother

My big brother always wears white,

And he likes food more than slight.

He likes food more than a bunch,

He often sneaks off with some food before lunch.

There are not many things that gives him a scare,

except when we try to brush his hair.

He likes to sleep a whole lot,

One time he went to sleep just on the spot.

My big brother snores and sleeps like a log,

But I really love him, because

HE IS MY DOG!!
