whenever I try to connect my two v4s with the "present" option, one of them always says "list full" and it isn't. It does have 19 items, but only one friend, and that is the one I'm trying to connect with.

It might not be your item list. It could be that your food list is full. You should go into your food menu and check to see how many items are in there on both of the tamas.

It could also be that your friend list is full.
If any of your list are full, it will say that. ;]

greenalmonds already said that the Tama only has one friend in its friend list. Just a reminder
On the V4, the maximum number of items that can be stored is 32, and the max. number of meals/snacks is 15 (including default foods). So, that leaves you able to store 11 meals and 11 snacks purchased from the shop at once
