I believe it is pure luck. I have gotten 999 of each skill point and they still rejected me. I also had 0 stress, 4 hungry, 4 happy, and even tried it with different characters. I am not sure what to do, but you may have to make your band have certain instruments, but I believe it is pure luck... Hope I helped, even though it didn't help me!

 
I practiced with my band one generation as teens 10 times and won them all, and got O O X. When I played the school game 15 times correctly one generation, I got a pro debut. It matters how much you bond with your band, as binary said somewhere on Tama-Zone.
