I'd say get a V6. They're my favorite by far. Don't get a V5 though. They're boring by the 3rd generation.

v6 - it's the easiest to find right now, and music city is really fun, not to mention the tamagotchi itself.

I agree. Get the Music Star. You won't have too much trouble finding one. The others might be too hard to find in the stores.
