Battery dying, JUST got my Tamagotchi..

Recommended Posts

So I recently ordered a Tamagotchi, and received it in the mail today. I was messing around with my Tama, and taking care of it. Suddenly it says the batteries are dead. Obviously I was confused, I mean I just put them in. I figured somebody may have put already dead batteries in the container. I put in another set, then it died once again. I let it sit for a while then put yet ANOTHER set of batteries back in. It was working for a while then it "died" again. This is really frustrating because I just got it today.. I don't know if there's something wrong with it, or I'm doing something wrong.. Is this common? Please help.. :(

Are you using "cheap", old, or possibly defective batteries? Do you have a volt tester?

Is there any unusual markings, stains, or anything out of the ordinary in the battery compartment?

Have you messed with it anyway? Did the previous owner mess with it? (If it was used)

If this is a connection version tamagotchi that you are talking about I've heard that it's sometimes a common issue for the batteries to just die in them. I guess some versions just literally suck the life out of the battery in a matter of a few hours.

No tamagotchi version "sucks the life" out of a battery.

The tamas are made to work with these batteries, so the problem wouldn't be in a whole version of tamas. ;)

Mostly the problem is the battery, not the tama.

Inserting batteries of another brand would usually solve the problem.

Sometimes nothing is wrong with the battery, but something is stuck on the battery or in the tama, stopping them from contact.

No offense or anything Purn, please don't take the criticism personally!

This happened to my tama-go before...

The battery died (I had my tama-go for 2 years) so I put new one's in

and it died again! I put new ones again and it failed to turn on so I put in

a different brand of battery's and it works again so it can happen to anyone

This is a poll for a game I really want Nintendo to make for the Switch to make up for Mario Kart Tour (which I hate a bunch, mostly for its heavy microtransactions). To differentiate from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, I want this game to be another Double Dash game and to re-feature EVERY past driver (a la Super Smash Bros. Ultimate) that has been playable at some point in the series' near-30-year history (Petey Piranha, Funky Kong, Wiggler, R.O.B., Pac-Man, Mametchi, etc.)

If the Tamagotchi anime were to get a full English Dub, which channel/streaming service would be best for it?

      I stumbled across this in a branch of TK Maxx (the UK version of TJ Maxx) today, and I couldn't resist picking it up;

It's an officially-licensed metal and enamel keychain, featuring a nostalgic element of the original toys that we enthusiasts sometimes bemoan ("Oh no, they only remember the Tamagotchi as a toy that poops and dies!"), albeit humourously framed. I'm pretty happy with this find because it was the only one that they had left and it had been reduced in price to £1.70! (A quick check online tells me that they originally retailed for £7.99, which, even though this is a really nice and surprisingly big keychain, I feel is a little high.)
These were made by the UK giftwares company Paladone. Their goods are sometimes sold in North America too, so this is just a quick heads-up to let anyone who might be interested know that these are out there, presumably now discounted after the pre-Christmas impulse-buy period for items like this has come and gone.
Interestingly, even though this is a British product, it doesn't use the angel death-screen from the original Western localised version of the toys, instead opting for the gravestone from the Japanese versions (though without Obaketchi). I'm sure that some people will swear blind that they remember it being this way originally, as a result. But it's still a nice-looking little piece of merchandise, and I certainly can't argue with the price!

Hello, I am Deru-sama, AKA Dale8998. I have a plan to make an abridged anime containing all 400 episodes. 😀

However, I need voice actors. You can't have an abridged anime just by cutting up an episode and calling it finished, you have to slap in a bunch of jokes. (For example, Goku squeaking whenever he's crushed in someone's hands during a TFS episode, or Tea being a kleptomaniac in YGOTAS.)
      Here's the questions:
      1. How old are you? (I need you to be 13 or older, because I'm going for a PG-13 audience in order to keep myself from getting COPPA banned. If you don't want to say, just give a range.)
      2. Do you have any experience with voice acting? (If you do, it's a bonus, but first-time actors are fine too.)
      3. What time zone are you in?
      4. When are you available? I try to get one upload a week, but I can do it more slowly or quicker depending on when you're available.
      5. YouTube link?
