Nano puppy resetting

I just bought a used 1997 (first gen?) Nano puppy. I was pretty excited because it looks exaclty like the one I had when I was 11. It worked great the first day but now it's shutting itself on and off and resetting itself randomly. The batteries are brand new. What can I do to fix it or is it doomed?

Have you tried something like art foam to keep the batteries in place? Usually it works and its cheap.

Make sure the battery cover on it is tight and clean the battery contacts with a qtip dipped in rubbing alcohol; let dry and then put the batteries in and try again.

Or you could have gotten defective batteries. It happens sometimes, where new ones are drained. Try another fresh set.
