From my knowledge, its a puzzle game. You solve puzzles to unlock pages in your tamagotchi encyclopedia which animate cutely.

It looks like Pokeloji was an electronic unit that had a few different variations, all being like a quiz or puzzle game to gain knowledge.

Seems like a cute and fun thing. I see them around ebay every so often. They don't seem too hard to come by if you know how to look for them. But they definitely aren't common. I hope you enjoy your new tamagotchi <3
