My Tamagotchi P's screen is flickering?

My tama left me about a month ago and i've just left it on the little flying and crying letter since then. But yesterday I pressed a button and noticed the screen's brightness was flickering from bright to dim but never completely off. I took the batteries out and put them back in and as of right now it is very dim! I'm not sure why, it is also frozen on the "please wait" sign but when I could press the buttons every time I would it would flickr again.

This is very strange! My Tamagotchi Ps is brand new and I got it maybe in early December. I hope it isn't busted

Phew!! It looks like all I needed to do was change the battery? I didn't think a low battery could cause so much trouble! But there seems to be no flickering or freezing now!

Yeah, that happens to me just before the battery dies.
