It is currently the third generation on a tamagotchi p's. The tama is a teen Cosmotchi. The item looks like a desk or shrine with two people sitting at it. One is wearing blue and the other is wearing pink. Why is it there and what does it do?

It's celebrating a holiday. (I forgot the name but I think it's a Japanese holiday). Your tamagotchi will also celebrate Christmas, Halloween, Easter, and a few more. Hope I helped. ^_^

the dolls are put there by the parents to watch over their first born daughters. Normally the daughters share the dolls unless the family can afford to buy more - Status
