super gyaoppi battery help!?!

Recommended Posts

Just recieved a super gyaoppi 9 in 1, batteries were corroded so bought some lr44 energizer cell batteries to replace them...and the unit doesn't work (other than high pitched beeping and occasional lines on the screen) so thinking *hopefully* its just the wrong batteries. They are lr44 1.5v. The box to the gyaoppi says you need lr44 3v, execept these do not seem to exist anywhere...am i being dumb?

Putting the battery voltage question aside just for a moment, could it be something to do with the corrosion you mentioned?

Have you cleaned it up before trying the batteries?

Just in case it's useful, this topic by Pauly gives you links to other parts of the side including cleaning / corrosion tips: http://www.tamatalk.com/IB/topic/190825-ancestor-tamagotchi-useful-information/?p=3299120

One battery had corroded slightly, hardly any had leaked onto the contact and it cleaned off easy so i don't think its that...might try giving it another clean just in case
