Tamagotchi DreamTown Disassembly

Recommended Posts

Hi guys! I just recently got my Tamagotchi Dream Town, and recently joined TamaTalk!

I noticed fingerprints on the screen of my Tama when I opened it, and at first thought it was because I had touched it. They wouldn't come off after cleaning it though, and I realized that they were UNDER the screen. I also wanted to change the faceplate and so here's a little explanation/ tutorial for if you have a similar issue or want to change your faceplate too!

Here is my Tamagotichi - you can see the fingerprints on the screen, on the top and bottom.

To remove the plastic plate, I used a thin needle tool and slipped it under the plate from the corner of the screen (here its a dentist tool - but any thin object will do. Some people have been successful with their fingernails or cards, but those were a bit too thick for me). After getting the tool underneath, apply a little bit of pressure to lift the BOTTOM of the plate up - the top has two small tabs that keep the plate in place and you want to make sure not to break these off! :D

After removing the plate and the paper faceplate, you see four small screws - remove them and you can open up the Tamagotchi. Be careful when lifting off the top section, the three buttons are all loose in there so they may fall out if you pull it off too quickly. When replacing the top screen, put the buttons back in their little slots and hold it upside down and push the backing back on. I had to wipe off the inside of the top screen to remove the fingerprints. :P

And there you have it!! Replace the screws and plates and you're ready to go! To make the customized face plates I traced the one that came with my tamagotchi and messed around with some markers and stickers - I'll make better ones later but for now this will do! :D

Is there any way of taking my tamagochi mix facplate off without opening the whole thing?

      Hey, everyone!
I've always wondered if it would be possible to create your own connection Tamagotchi! Like somehow creating your own sprites and importing them into the Tamagotchi or something along those lines. Does anyone know of anything along these lines or have any tips? I've played around with the circuit boards and I've even managed to swap a V2 circuit board with a V4.5 circuit board just for fun, but I want to actually create my own somehow. I'd love to start a discussion with everyones' thoughts on this and some input on how to go about doing this. I think customizable Tama's could be a new thing!

Alright, recently i received a wonderful melon soda keitai as a gift from my lovely girlfriend, and it has become the crown jewel of my collection. I also got a very pretty summer night v3 with it, but they both have a few little faults that i would like to fix to help better their condition!
First off, the paint on the both of them has chipped off a but, and i would like to fix the little things that i can. Does anyone know what kind of paint would be best? I am not risking anything by using nail polish, as ive heard it tends to smear the designs and causes the shell to yellow.
The other thing i would appreciate getting help with is whitening my melon soda's yellowed buttons! I have tried dunking them in water with baking soda and lime, and gently washed them with toothpaste, but neither method has achieved anything, except for temporarily causing my tam to glitch and forcing me to reset. I would try soaking them in chlorine, but I am very paranoid about using such a strong chemical on the soft rubber. Does anyone know of a good, foolproof, and safe method?
Thank you very much in advance, and I will try to post some pictures once I get home!

So I'm in the states but I recently got a European v Tamagotchi Friends and tried to go onto the Tamagotchi Friends Dream Town, it let me play but wouldn't let me sign in or register or anything.
Is that site totally defunct? I'm completely out of the loop tbh but I know obviously the old tama DreamTown is gone and and has been for a while, but I thought maybe at least the Friends one might be up and running bc it's newer. Is that not the case?

Hello, Tama Fans! Just wanted to know if anyone knows where I can find a blank template for tamagotchi p's faceplate so I could personalize it and print it out in picture paper to personalize my P's!
