So, today my -younger by nine years no less- brother asked me the age-old question... "You're STILL collecting tamagotchis?" and keep in mind that wasn't said with the intention of "you're too old for collecting them" but rather "how many years have you been collecting them for again?" (yeah, Greek is a weird language). And I sit there thinking... wow. I'm... twenty eight years old. I was seven when I got my first P1, fourteen when I bought my first Connexion with my own allowance. And yes, I've been very frugal so my collection is but a very small one (yet all my tamas are dearly beloved) but I have been at it for over TWENTY YEARS? Although if one is to consider when I "consciously" began collecting them it would be fourteen... but this doesn't sound nearly as nice and round.
So my question to you today is... how long have you been playing with tamagotchis? When did you start? What was your first tama? Discuss!
On a scale of 1-10 rate, how annoying are these things you?
1. A piece of popcorn stuck between your teeth.
2. Someone running a red light, when you stopped on the yellow light.
3. A clock ticking in a quiet room.
4. Waiting in a long check-out line.
5. Telemarketers that keep calling.
The next person that posts will have to come up with new material for rating.
Please remember the Tamatalk rules and guidelines when commenting!
6. Getting sick on a holiday
7. melting ice cream
Number 6- that's a 10 for me!
No. 7 ew, gross soupy ice cream! 7
8. sharing a pen/pencil and not getting it back
Okay, so this game was inspired by "What are You Listening to Right Now?" (btw that is not a game). Anyway, the first players posts the first lyric line from a song. That first player also says which song the lyric came from. The next player has to post which lyrics come next in the song. Then the next player does the same thing. When the song is complete, the player who posts the last lyrics to the song gets to choose the next song.
You may google the lyrics.
Player 1: Song: "Let it Go by Idina Menzel." The snow glows white on the mountain tonight
Player 2: Not a footprint to be seen
Player who posts the very last lyrics of the song: The cold never bothered me anyway. Next song: "Roar by Katy Perry." I used to bite my tongue and hold my breath
Sorry if this is confusing not good at writing instructions.
Okay I will start:
Song: "Dark Horse by Katy Perry."
Okay, so the first player posts a reference from a book, movie, TV show, etc. The next players has to guess which book, movie, TV show, etc. the reference came from. That player then posts another different reference for the next player to guess.
Note: the player who wrote the reference does NOT have to correct the next player if he or she got it wrong. Also, the reference does NOT have to be well known.
Player 1: "Are . . . you . . . a . . . psychic???" (<--- that came from a TV show called "Psych.")
Player 2: Steven Universe? "Dorothy lived in the midst of the great Kansas prairie."
Player 3: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz? "Girls, as you know, are much to clever to fall out of their prams."
And so forth.
If you wanna spice it up, the player posts a quote and tells the next player to write the quote that comes after it. Note: the player doesn't need to correct the other if he/she got it wrong. And quotes don't need to be well known.
Player 1: "Are...you...a...psychic?" Post the quote that came after that.
Player 2: "No I'm not."? (<--- that was the wrong quote) "Dorothy lived in the midst of the great Kansas prairie." (<--- go back to a regular reference if you want)
And so forth.
I'll start!!! P.S. Sorry the is so complicated. Not very good at writing instructions.
"Girls, as you know, are much too clever to fall out of their prams."
