Hey tamalovers!!! Does anyone know where can I purchase Deco Pierces that is not on ebay or amazon? Because they are getting very expensive there.

If there isn't another website where i could get it, I'll have to make a huge dent in my wallet 😅

HobbyLink Japan and CDJapan had them before, but I just checked and couldn't see them. :( Don't know if they restock or not. I've seen some fairly reasonable prices (for me, it's about AU$25-30) via Amazon Japan - but the extra expense may come from having to use a shipping forwarder to get them, since those sellers usually only post to Japan. But I also haven't seen all of the pierces, so if you're looking for particular ones I'm not sure where else you could go.

Well thanks Debibu! I'll try to see if i could find some before resorting to amazon and ebay's expensive prices. I saw the melody land pierce being 140$ for just the pierce and I was quite shocked.

Glad I got the melody land set tamagotchi p's years ago when it was on sale.

They just keep getting very pricey. Plus the Puerto Rico shipping and taxes? I'll be spending over 200$ on a pierce.

It's crazy.

I can imagine! They're about to change a bunch of things here in AU which means that we're looking at things getting way more expensive this year. :( So hard to keep up hobbies, now!

If you have trouble finding anything on Amazon Jp (amazon.co.jp) I find using the japanese letters for tamagotchi (you can just use Google translate for this) tends to bring up more results. Hopefully that helps!

Another option is maybe Yahoo japan, or basically any of the jp shopping websites? There are often middle-man buying services that can help you out with it from the japanese to english, plus forwarding, etc (e.g. Buyee is one, but I haven't tried it). Some folks on here might have a bit more experience with it though.

Try these on for size;

たまごっち - Tamagotchi (written in hiragana because that's how it's officially rendered)

バーチャルペット - Virtual pet (written in katakana because it's a loanword)

ミニゲーム - Mini game (again, written in katakana because it's a loanword)

You'll occasionally find virtual pet-related items listed using that latter term, hence why I've included it here.

After hearing good things from a friend, I switched from a different proxy-service to Buyee quite recently, because the fees for the service that I used previously were way too high. I'm now tracking my first ever package bought using Buyee from Japan to the UK. My impression of the service so far (which applies to their Yahoo! Auctions Japan bidding options, and their package-consolidation option) is very good.

Information about their service-fees and about how much you will pay is up-front and very clear (they have a tool for estimating these costs before you bid on or buy anything), and the option to bid on Yahoo! Auctions Japan in real-time as if you had your own account there, or even set it up to place a bid for you during the last five minutes of an auction, is both very easy-to-use and flexible.

If it would be helpful, I'll follow this up with an update on their packaging, once my package gets here.

There's also the option of Mr. Blinky's VDP+ downloads if you're interested: http://mrblinky.net/tama/vdp/ (You need to scroll down to get to the VDP+.) He's taken all the information from the physical deco pierces and has made them into virtual deco pierces, just like his custom VDP's. If you want more details on how to download these, Mr. Blinky has the instructions on his site. I understand if you'd rather have a physical version, but I just thought I'd bring up the virtual option. ^_^

That's actually a good option. It is a lot cheaper too. Maybe I'll get a IRDA USB and just use these Virtual Deco Pierces instead! Altgough there are a couple which I would like to physically have, this is a good option for the rest of them! Thank You!

Don't get an IRDA USB, they don't work well. It's better to get an old phone.

Nokias are pretty good and go for cheap I think (though at least in Europe), but people reccomend Palm Treo.

And if you're interested in ever getting a 4U, then there's a phone that's both compatible with it as well as Irda compatible devices:

Pretty pricy but still cheaper than buying any other NFC device.

Can confirm what Jhud said, IRDA USB's and the like are tetchy at best.

But....might this be of interest? It is only ~50$ with the exchange rate in my country so likely reasonably priced in most places!

I have an IRDA USB and I can confirm that it's definitely difficult to work with. I'm only able to download like four things onto my iD L in one sitting before the USB decides that it's time to stop. .-. I should probably look into getting an old phone too... :P

Initially, nothing existed, nothing but microscopic atoms the size rivaling that of ants and pieces of rice, but in a matter of moments, our Lord brought everything we know into existence. Delving into the universe, the various galaxies, our galaxy, the Milky Way, is a beautiful blue and green planet that we call home; Earth.
Earth is a beautiful, luscious planet, unlike any of its eight fellow planets. It has thirst-quenching water, gorgeous scenery, and most importantly, the presence of life. Life began with a bunch of animals, a man named Adam, and a woman named Eve, and as the centuries and millenniums kept going, regardless of their differing events, all moments of history have one thing in common; life slowly but surely grew swifter, stronger, and most prominently, smarter, and and all associated capabilities of speed, strength, and knowledge lie within a special element of our bodies called the brain.
The brain is a sacred treasure guarded by the thick layers of our skulls. It processes every sight our eyes visualize, every scent our noses get lured to, everything our hands feel, every sound our ears hear, and every bite of food our mouths and taste buds consume, and above all this can provide the answers to some of life's biggest questions. Where do babies come from? What's the highest SAT/ACT score? Will we get a spouse or be single until death? Will we succeed in getting our dream job?
But later today, at any time, Bandai America is going to answer life's most frequently-asked question, a question that was passed from vocal cord to vocal cord generation after generation, a question that not even the lord himself knows the answer to, a question that humanity has been plaguing since the beginning of time as we know it.

Hello I'm new to this website and I've been using my old tamagotchi connection v3 for about a month now. The screen on my device is fairly beat up and I was curious if I could find some official or third party screen replacement for the Tamagotchi Connection v3.

I notice no one really talking about the Hello Kitty Nano that's rumored to be a NA release. Not much is known but it was leaked and information is coming in slowly but its timed to be released in the fall as well. It has 2 colors and is due this October for release. Hopefully we will see more info during the next bandai news letter or during a announcement on their social media!

      Hey!
Tamagotchis have been with me through my childhood. Now I am an 18-year-old who occasionally transforms into a total tama-stan. XD
I've currently got booted up a connection v2! However, since I last used it, I think it may have bugged out slightly... I downloaded my old tama (petitchi, gen 12) to find that the age of my tama was 61??? Not sure how that happened. XD
My first ever tamagotchi was the connection v4.5 <3, I got it for my eighth birthday and I loved it soo much!!! However, it just so happens to be the only tama I have that no longer works!! 😢 It's really hard to replace that model.
Anyway! I thought now is a good time to return once again to my hobby, since I'm inside all the time, haha!

      My collection of tamagotchis:
      Tamagotchi P2 (J)
      Connection v2 (E)
      Connection v5.5 (Celebrity Familitchi) (E)
      Connection v6 (Music Star) (E)
      Tamagotchi Friends (E)
      Gudetama Tamagotchi (E)
      ...oh! and a Violetchi lanyard.
I'm also planning on purchasing some more japanese models! I've been hopping about on ebay, looking for good deals. 😛 As the v4.5 is so hard to come by from what I can tell, I am definitely considering investing in the Ura Jinsei Enjoi, which features my beloved Ura tamas!! 😮
I'm always open for discussions!! If you have any questions for me, or stories to tell, please don't hesitate to comment!!
