English Gudetama Tamagotchis release!

Recommended Posts

It looks like Gudetama Tamagotchis are coming to the USA and will only be available at GameStop.

These awesome eggs are set to crack on December 15 2018 and are now available for preorder on the GameStop website(link below). The packaging is in English so I'm thinking the game will be also??

I hope it's in English. I have the yellow Japanese one already, and would like to get the same in English. Dec.15, you say? That would be a nice b'day present for me since my b'day is 4 days prior. I'll drop my hubby a hint.

Yay! Amazing QwQ I didn't ever have the chance to order the Japanese version so this is very appreciated. Gonna get some with my best friendo. I really love how they're actually releasing tamagotchis in some form in english now.

GudeTama Tamagotchi Pre-Orders on GameStop.com

We know what you’re thinking, WHAT?! Bandai America released a press release on October 1st that definitely went under the radar, but it revealed some major Tamagotchi news. The press release was centered around the Tamagotchi Original being available online and in stores, and also Bandai’s partnership with Tile and Loot Crate. At the very bottom of the press release theres this magical sentence that’ll make you smile:

Bandai will also be releasing a Tamagotchi based on Sanrio’s lazy egg character, Gudetama - coming out in 2019.

Thats right, the Gudetama Tamagotchi originally released in Japan last year is making its way to the United States! GameStop has listed their Gudetama Tamagotchi’s, which apparently will be a GameStop exclusive. Starting December 15th you can pick up the Gudetama Tamagotchi in a set with a sitting case, egg case, or just the device itself. Oddly enough all the pricing is the same at just $19.99 USD.

We have confirmed with Bandai America that the Gudetama Tamagotchi’s on U.S. shelves have been fully translated into English (YAY!). These weren’t supposed to hit shelves until 2019, so we would definitely recommend preordering on GameStop.com or heading over to a GameStop store after December 15th to pick one up before the holidays!

*Special thanks to @osumesu21 for the tip

I can't wait til I get it. I have my Japanese one running right now. I take it to work with me and play it on breaks. Now I'll know what it says when I click the C button, and to have the English packaging.

These are already out. Gamestop updated the website yesterday and the Tama alone, and the case and Tama pack are available to order.

I checked in 2 stores near me, and they have only the Tama. They don't have the case and Tama combo, so if you want that right now you have to order online. The stores vaguely told me to check back this weekend, but I didn't want to wait.

It's the same mold used to make the Nano.

I got mine today.  Yellow, just like my Japanese one.  The game is the same, it says food and drink, and the C click scrolls across the top instead of the side like the Japanese one.  It has a screw for the battery compartment.  It still uses 2 LR44 batteries.  The packaging and instructions are tri-lingual : English, French, and Spanish, but the device is English.

The case for the gudetama is made from a nice silicone material. It's very durable. I really like the one that sits up that I got.

Apparently, Target started carrying these! Rather than stuffing them down on the lower shelves, they now have the GudeTamas (and the P1/P2s and minis) hanging on pegs above the hatchimal stuff, so hopefully they'll move a little faster! They only have the kind without the silicone cases right now, though.

Target Stores Carrying Gudetama Tamagotchi!

image

Such exciting news! We can confirm from a Tamagotchi fan (@screamingsnektchi) that Target stores are carrying the beloved Gudetama Tamagotchi! This fan found the device in a Target store in Albuquerque, New Mexico! You may remember that previously only GameStop was carrying them, then they showed up at ThinkGeek, now Target is showing some love.

Don’t forget, those Gudetama case bundles are still exclusive to GameStop, Target is carrying just the Gudetama Tamagotchi device for $19.99. You’ll still need to make a trip to a GameStop store or order at GameStop.com to get your hands on one of those case bundles.

We are so excited to hear the Gudetama Tamagotchi is making its way to stores nationwide! We’ll keep you informed if we see them pop up on other store shelves!

I.... I LITERALLY posted that information a week ago in the post above yours. XD

It is super cool though! Hopefully this means Tamagotchi is actually starting to get more successful in the US. Sure seems like the P1/P2 remakes in my area go at a decent speed.

Is there a health meter on the Gudetama tamagotchi? I was looking for it. I can’t really see how my Gudetama is feeling like the other tamagotchi’s.
it would be great to find out.
      thanks!

I just bought the Gudetama just today so I’m new to this. ( So use to the original tamagotchi omg )

      Hello,

I recently acquired a Gudetama Tamagotchi, but I haven't had a Tamagotchi since I was really little, and I'm having trouble understanding how it works. I also don't read Japanese, which makes this especially tricky

From what I understand thus far, there are two food options (snack, and meal), and one game I can play. The A button lets me pick between options, and B lets me select an option, and also takes me to the clock. C is cancel.

However, there is a lot I still don't understand – should my screen always stay on? I'm not supposed to turn the Tamagotchi off at any point, am I? When he's asleep, should I just let him sleep? I have figured out that, when he goes to sleep, I have the option to turn the light on and off.

When he's awake, I've figured out that the C button "calls" him and checks his status. Naturally, since these are in Japanese, I can't read them. Some of them I've been able to figure out just by comparing them to the other options (like when he wants a certain food) but others I'm a bit confused about...

I know this is a relatively new Tamagotchi, but does anyone else have any other bits of information that might be helpful?

      Thank you so much!

Ahoy there, everyone. Today my Gudetama arrived and I've been running it for about three hours. Anyone else's arrived yet? I went with the yellow tama with the white silicone case. As everyone surmised, it's chibi sized and works quite similarly.

I'm not familiar with the Gudetama property whatsoever, so I don't know any of the characters here, but you start out with a baby yolk (Gudetama?) with a bonnet in a half shell. Cute, I suppose. Like the chibi you have two food options -- a regular meal and a tomato. Again like the chibi your Gudetama will only eat up to four meals depending on how long it's gone without food. With the tomatoes, however, there doesn't seem to be a cap. Is there some relevance to the tomatoes? It doesn't even look like your Gudetama actually eats them -- he just puts them in his shell.

There's also a game you can play at any time, which is basically three card monte with two eggs. Purely chance based, which is always a bummer. It has five rounds, and even winning just two seems to make your Gudetama happy.

There's a clock feature as always, with no 24-hour option, just 12-hour. Always weird how that feature comes and goes.

If you press C you get a little animation and a message from your Gudetama. Mine currently says "babu babu" in Katakana, which is just baby talk.

My Gudetama hasn't changed forms yet, and has only beeped at me once. From the instructions it looks like there are about three stages. We'll see how long it takes to transform.

I'm hoping to hear from some of you guys what you think about it. I've grown quite fond of chibis due to how low-key they are.

      Hello,
at the moment I only have an iDL (english), but plan to collect another tamagotchi near future.
I'm confuse deciding between P's, Sanrio Mix, or even latest Bandai Gudetama (this Dec, 2017)...
not to mention PriPri-Chan Shot (tomy dakara).. all seems nice..

But I can only buy one more toy this year..
      which one best to get?

(i hope the one I get will be the one which will be translated to English),
I know P's is fully translated to English now, but is it worth it to accompany my iDL?do they so different?
while i heard mix is very different..

I'm currently trying to figure out the latest launch of tamagotchi x Sanrio. However, they are all in Japanese and I've found limited guides on its usage. The basic navigation has been smooth so far. I'm seeking further help to figure out how to hatch a Gudetama. I greatly appreciate any help! Thank you!

I am trying to mate my tamagotchi v4.5 with my friends by making them friendly. They both have 4 hearts now under friendship and are too young to currently mate. Hers is a boy and is 2yrs. Mine is a girl and is 3yrs. I was watching hers and it had half an egg with a baby boy it looked like sitting in the egg shell above her tamagotchi, but when she presses the middle button the time screen came on and whem she went back it was gone and went back to normal. What was this?
